Hi! I'm using Calibre with the Fanficfare plugin. But when I download from asianfanfics.com, some words are not included in the epub, like the word f*ck or curse words etc. Is there something in the settings that I could change? Thank you!

It seems that asianfanfic censors curse words and other adult words they deem to be inappropriate unless one is logged in. I have already placed my username and password in the personal.ini file, but it still does not output the curse words and whatnot.

It seems I just need to restart Calibre for it to work. Curse words are already included haha.

If you notice problems with chapter titles (such as "1. 1. Chapter 1")with stories downloaded/updated with the previous test version, the quickest way to correct them is to update again with 'Update Always'.

If you use mark_new_chapters:true, that will mark all chapters (new), unfortunately.

Sorry about that. But it's called testing for a reason.

Whenever I try to use "Get Story from URLs from Web page" I get the following or similar error messages. Can you help

The error pretty much says it, the connection didn't go through.

We've seen that happen because of firewall settings on your computer before.

Without knowing what URL you are trying to access, I can't even try and see if it works for me...

Since a few days, the wuxiaworld.com adapter doesn't properly download the chapters anymore, instead you just get the first of the site announcements on the page.

I tried to use the latest test version, but with that wuxiaworld.com doesn't download at all anymore. I tried running in debug mode, but can't make sense of it:

TypeError: tuple indices must be integers, not str

line 286 in base_adapter is not actually in getStoryMetadataOnly, so I really don't know what's going on here.

After reverting back to the last stable version, I found that changing (adapter_wuxiworldcom.py):

content = soup.select_one('.section-content .fr-view')

to

content = soup.select_one('.section-content .panel .p-15 .fr-view')

downloads the right section again. (I tried complete downloads of 4 different stories, each with 100's of chapters, and as far as I can tell, they are all correct.)

So I am moving to a new laptop & saved my personal settings from forever ago. So ideally I should have no problems updating my settings on the new pc just by copying the saved settings and pasting them in the settings area correct?

Depends what you mean by saved, Calibre has a built-in tool for a while now(3 years I think) to export all data(library, settings and plugins) so if you are using that all you have to do is export, copy the folder to new laptop, install calibre and select folder on import.

If that is not what you mean then you need to have copied both the Calibre folder in %APPDATA% (Just copy it into explorer or run, it is an easy way to go directly to Users\insertusername\AppData\Roaming ) and your library, the first goes to the same place in the new laptop and you can have the latter wherever you want though if it is not the same path then you will need to point Calibre to it as library.

It should be noted while I never had problems with the second method the Calibre FAQ makes a point of commenting that while it should work it is not officially supported, so if you still have access to the laptop you were using you should use the first one.

FanFicFare keeps all it's settings in the library database. If you copy your entire library directory from your old computer to the new one, it should be fine.

It seems like some story urls in wattpad cannot be downloaded. It says that there is a bad story url, even though other stories could be downloaded.

I think the one I wanted to download is a private wattpad story. Is there still a way to download it?
