Excuse me if it's a stupid question, but I'm confused.

I've been using the rawgenre/rawships/etc. option a lot lately. But today, I've noticed that, the start/end of line anchors ^ and $ do not work anymore with the rawgenre etc. tags, when I could have sworn it did without problems just a few days ago, the last time I downloaded anything.

I've attached my ini file for it.

It's like this, aside from my ini file being as it is, I've also tried to see what the problem was by making sure my replace_metadata file contains only one line:

 ships=>(.*)=>\1\,Slytherin/Gryffindor Friendship&&rawgenre=>^Slytherins and Gryffindors being reluctant friends$

And yet, the line does not get added unless I delete the ^$ or replace it with \b or (). This only happens in conjunction with the rawgenre etc. tags. Everywhere else in my replace_metadata file, with the regular replacements, it works perfectly fine. And I'm confused because as I said, it worked perfectly fine a few days ago. Or so I thought.

Do you have any idea how I'm messing up?

When you are checking the value of rawgenre, you are looking at the entire string:
"Black Hermione Granger, Gen, I'm offended that's a tag OF COURSE he's smart, Indian Harry Potter, Lucius Malfoy is a bad person but a good father, M/M, Parselmouth Harry Potter, Plotty, Secret Relationship, Slow Build, Slytherins and Gryffindors being reluctant friends, Smart Draco Malfoy, Soulmate AU, but this fic isn't out to hurt you, canon? i don't know her, sometimes bad things happen, suprising lack of focus on soulmates for a soulmate au"

The only way ^Slytherins and Gryffindors being reluctant friends$ should have worked in past is if that was the only thing in Additional Tags at the time.

The substitution clause (before &&) operates on each element of the list. The conditional clause (after the &&) operates on the entire string. That may be the cause of confusion.

I've got a bug/request to make. I was trying to use FFF to download My Friends from spacebattles and it kept giving me error 403 forbidden. Upon looking into it, the post address for chapter 6.5 instead brings you to an error page when opened - but when you just click on it normally it brings you to the correct page. I'm fairly certain that this is something on their end, so my request is thus: can you put in an option (AFAIK there isn't one, and I looked fairly hard) so that if FFF does run into a forbidden error or a post that's been deleted it just skips that and moves on to the next chapter? It has only happened to me twice as far as I remember, but it's fairly annoying when a chapter is near the end and the whole thing fails because it can't read a single link.

You can set continue_on_chapter_error true for that story.

Hi, I'm having an issue downloading stories from alternatehistory.com, so far I can only down the first entry and it ignores the rest. I have checked the .ini but it doesn't show a way for me to download the whole story or related threads. I'd like to know if anyone has found a way to download the entire story thread of it there's anything I need to change in the .ini to fix this. Thanks in advance.
