Hi,
Anyone would have the dictionary "Le nouveau Littré" (it's a modern version of a french dictionary called "Le Littré") ? |

After installing a custom dictionary, everytime my kobo updates the dictionary to the original one so my custom dictionary is suddenly gone.
How do I prevent it from updating my dictionaries ??? |

The "dictutil install" command can do that for you (both replacing and adding new ones). Otherwise, just manually set IsSynced to false in the DB (it will say dictionary downloads are pending, but it will work fine).

I would like to try to install Dictutil using a Mac, if that is possible. But I think that I would also have to install an "Enable searches on extra dictionaries patch". So that would mean two operations. The other solution seems simpler. So can you please point me to an explanation of how I can "mark the dicthtml-*.zip file read-only" ? do I need specific software to do this? Thanks in advance, Rojofo. |

To install it on macOS, just download the Darwin binary, chmod +x it in a terminal, and then run it with ./whatever. You'll need to let it through gatekeeper. See the kepubify instructions for how to do this kind of thing. Dictutil will mark it read-only as necessary, but on macOS, you can also use chmod -w to do it manually. |
