As required: I'd like to state that I acknowledge the fact that the Iliad isn't finished yet and the software will need to be updated a number of times to make it fully functional.

I live in the USA and am aware that shipping to the US will not begin until the second half of July, so I won't order before that.

I can do this, right?

I really can't do that. I asked iRex about arranging a similar "SignUp" procedure for US customers and will post when I receive their reply.
As soon as the invites start coming in, somebody open a new thread and post there so we can all check progress on this "mobileread project"

I can't say how long irex will wait until they actually sen those invites, but I hope you'll be able to order your devices very soon.
