it does so automatically, using different dictionaries for different languages. Provided a dictionary for the language exists, of course.

@jveth Ubuntu 20.04 ships python3 based calibre, so python2 plugins don't work, it has nothing to do with Ubuntu still shipping a python2 package.
@kovidgoyal cool! good to know. |

With Calibre, forget using any repository. You want ot make sure you have the correct version of Calibre that actually works. Get it from the Calibre website. A lot of problems are causing by using Linux repositories.

HyphenateThis! V. 0.0.9.
Windows 10, 32 bit and 64 bit computer. I installed on both computers Calibre 5.0.1 today, and now the plugin has vanished from the menue bar. It is displayed as "installed" in the preferences section of Calibre, but I can find it nowhere on the user interface. In the previous version of Calibre it worked on both computers without issue. |

You might consider using the equivalent feature that is built into calibre instead. See the option to "Add soft hyphens" in "Polish book". |

Thank you! It seems to work. Is it not necessary to install hyphenation dictionaries, specified to each language?

Dictionaries are built-in I guess.

I agree that although "Polish ebook" works fine, this plugin had more features like the possibility to ignore certain tags e.g. H1/H2 etc.

Out of interest: I suppose that the plugin as well as the "PolishBook"-feature read their language informations out of the book's metadata? I'm asking because I had already books where the language had not been edited in the metadata.

I PM'd the Author a couple of weeks ago - no response to date.
SauliusP hasn't been active some Jan 30, so… Maybe one of PI guru's could have a look at the PI. BR |

My thoughts exactly. I know there's a similar feature in Polish, that doesn't work for me because it hyphenates all formats in the book's entry and it doesn't mark that hyphens have been added. So that makes using Calibre's hyphenating very inconvenient.

Any plan to migrate to Phyton 3 apart of using the equivalent feature to "Add soft hyphens" in "Polish book".
The Polishs rules to hypenate are not the same than Spanish ones Last edited by Shark69; 09-27-2020 at 06:25 AM. |

Can you give a try to this? I don't have dictionaries to test it (I don't really use it).
