Have you tried using some vaseline in your nostrils?

Okay, I don't want to hear ANY snickering. Its a proven solution to many problems.

I am probably going to regret posting this, but when my husband had chemo, one of the side effects was spontaneous bloody noses. We had to go to an ENT guy to get it cauterized twice. He prescribed, I kid you not, KY jelly. For the lubrication. It worked.

I've got saline gel, which is probably much the same sort of thing, but is designed for noses.

It helps with the dryness, and some with the soreness, but it still feels like I've got something in my nose.

Sometimes, depending on where the dry spot is, a very small amount of Blistex works, but it can burn sensitive places in the nose, too, so I have to be careful with it. The allantoin in Blistex does help the skin heal more quickly, though.

May not be around much for a little while. I have pneumonia (not a shock really, I almost always get pneumonia if a cold goes into my chest ... my lungs are not very hardy as a result of asthma and prior bouts of pneumonia).

So, I'm going to keep a low profile for a few weeks. Work when I need to, but mostly just sleep. I may tweet a bit, and blog a bit, but I think I will likely stay out of any of the more lively debates here.

Stay crazy!! (Always leave them with a task that they can easily do .... )
