Maybe that explains why I have so many half-finished craft projects...I was just complaining recently that it's really hard to type and sew at the same time.

I'm baking mince pies, also simmering some turkey stock (for Christmas day gravy).
And I've just polished the silver and starched the best damask napkins and tablecloth. So I will be ironing soon.

I inherited what was left of my grandmother's, great aunt's and great grandmother's trousseaux. I've got acres of damask and a load of aggressive cut glass, etc.
I'm trying to wear it out, so as to spare my daughter, otherwise she will inherit it eventually. But it seems indestructible.

i heard that stuff is supposed to be treasured. of course if you really want to get rid of it you could try juggling with the glassware... with wet soapy hands... over concrete...

and turn the iron up very high, and then answer the phone which conveniently rings just as you're in the middle of ironing...
