(Sorry, file photo, and not a particular good one)

It's a nice 21C day, and feels warmer in the sun (I'm looking forward to summer though). Despite the only way of getting to A-Bay being by hilly walking track, there were quite a few people on the beach, some nuded-up (it's not an official nude beach, but, well, anyway...), but when I say "quite a few", I mean small groups or couples or singles about 50-100-200m apart. I had my camera with my macro lens and, and took a few photos (not of the nudies, of course), but mostly it was just a nice walk. We made it a circular route rather than a return by going back via Hell's Gates and the coastal track back to Hastings Street, where we fueled-up with a Massimo's icecream (waffle cone, with a scoop of dark cherry - with half-cherries in it - and a scoop of macadamia - with crushed and quarter-macadamias in it. Quite satisfactory, thank-you very much.).

Got home, got a nice tall glass of something cold, nuded-up, and jumped in the spa for an hour to "relax" tired muscles.

Now I'm just filling in time for another 20 minutes, then we'll take the dogs down for a leash-free walk on Noosa spit, and then along the Main Beach beachfront...

(another file photo)

...where we'll stop at the burger place for a grilled chicken and camembert burger each for dinner around sunset.

I can't complain. 'S a pretty good day all up, really, and, I guess, a pretty sweet life.

Cheers,
Marc
There are times I hate you, Marc.

Just finished mowing the front lawn (after removing the last of the body parts lying out there), and will start the back lawn in about an hour (or two ... depending on how long it takes me to cool off from the front part).

Also on the agenda today is building the frame for the magnetic chalkboard in the office, making and painting the frame portion of the glass cabinets in the kitchen, painting the rest of my organizational boxes, measuring the zippers on the couch and other furniture so I can order the fabric and get started on the reupholstry, dishes, clean cat boxes, clean and paint the wine rack, and start painting the pantry. I also hope to get another section of the great room floor sealed.

It's already 3:30 ... so it remains to see how much of this will actually get done.

I am watching an episode of House MD ("97 Seconds"), reading about the prognosis for malignant splenic masses in dogs, and nursing a (very) sore throat after my partner's guide dog jumped up and head butted me in the throat earlier whilst playing. Ice cream for tea methinks.

Youch!! Ahh ... House ... that man is one of my all time favorite actors. And he does an American accent so well!! (It's between him and the Brit who played the American in "Band of Brothers" as to who has the best one ... or maybe they both do.)

I am packing for a trip to Paris. ( I hope to meet Zelda, Natch and Hadrien on Tuesday).

Don't take any notice of House! I believed it until they showed a couple of episodes involving people with haemochromatosis (Hemachromatosis, if you're in the USA). We have it in our family (it's an inherited disease) and the episodes are very silly and ridiculously over-dramatised.

but nonetheless, you must admit, hugh laurie *is* sickeningly talented. i recommend "a bit of fry and laurie" which is a sketch show they did together (before house, and possibly before Jeeves and Wooster, i'm not sure of the dates) which will make you fall off your chair laughing. (he plays the piano in those as well).

I like 'House' - even though most of the medical dialogue is gibberish to me .

But I appear to have missed the episode, either the end of series 1 or the start of series 2, where he discovered a cure for male pattern baldness .

Yes ... which is why I seldom watch medical shows. Nearly twenty years of working in hospitals and ARC (before and during law school) left me sitting in front of the TV shouting "You have GOT to be KIDDING me!!" at the screen. Not a pretty picture.

Can't watch most of the legal shows without the same problem.

I had such a crush on Stephen Fry until I found out he was gay. Not that it made me think any less of him ... I still think he is ever so smart and good looking ... it's just that my crush suddenly seemed so incrediby futile. (Not that I would have had any real chance with him if he were a heterosexual ... but I could at least PRETEND that I had a chance then.)

On medical shows generally ... I gave up on taking any of them even half way seriously the day I watched an episode (don't remember what show -- but it was set in Los Angeles) where "Very Important Specialist" waltzes into the laboratory and pushes aside the tech to peer knowingly into the microscope.

"Ah," he says (also knowingly) ... "eo-sophi-nils!!" And ... waltzes out again.

OK ... at this point, I am laughing hysterically. Why?? Because:

1. the word is properly pronounced "eo-sin-o-phils."
2. this is a cell that often pops up in people with allergic reactions, a few on any blood smear are to be expected.
3. In Los Angeles where the air is better these days, but still smoggy, having a fairly high number of the little buggers still isn't particularly cause for concern. It just goes with living in LA.
4. Specialists just don't come wandering into the lab. It just doesn't happen ... really, it doesn't. Unless, of course, they have the hots for someone down there and come in for the social chit chat (rare but does happen).

Big moment! Good luck .

Do you think you'll ever finish all the projects you've got going - I'm exhausted just reading about them .

oh, i don't let trivial details such as sexual preference (or chronological incompatibility) interefere with my moviestar crushes. for instance, i am completely in love with cary grant (my ideal man), and i'm convinced in my heart of hearts that for *me* he would make an exception, and we would engage in sparkling, witty conversations while flirting outrageously over cocktails, enchant the room with our graceful, marvelously communicative dancing, and then go home to... well, that part is none of your business. i am a lady after all, and cary grant is the archetypal gentleman. in public, at least.
