Could you please find which .jar contains the class "com.amazon.kindle.kindlet.internal.ui.x"? I guess it can't be KindletImplementation-2.1.jar if our MD5 sums match.

@CyberShadow: See my previous edits. I'm guessing you'll find it in FW 5.1.0, if you really want to.

You shouldn't have to jump through any such hoops to make it build though. Which JDK are you using?

I cannot get this kindlet to work (it's the first I've tried). I've rooted a few Androids over the years, and jailbroken my iPhone, but am not, by any stretch a developer. Still, I've been reading the directions and wiki and multiple posts on this and related forums for a few hours, and it just doesn't sound that tough. There's nothing wrong with my Kindle - it's functioning fine, but I'm not getting collections manager.

My Kindle is a Paperwhite v1 running 5.4.4.2. I'm using a Mac running OSX 10.9.5

Here's what I've done so far:

Jailbreak: Downloaded kindle-jailbreak-1.14.N.zip. Unzipped reveals this bin file: Update_jailbreak_bridge_1.14.N_install.bin and another zip file [kindle-5.4-jailbreak.zip] which contains: Update_jb_$(cd mnt && cd us && sh jb.sh).bin. I ran both files - I don't remember the order, but I did see the message "Jailbreak" on my screen. Pretty sure I ran the first one listed first and that the second one does nothing.

Usbnet file: Kindle-usbnet-0.1.8N.zip was also posted with the jailbreak post. From that zip I ran: Update_usbnet_0.18.N_install_touch_pw.bin

Mobileread Kindlet Kit: It might have been included in my jailbreak, but that wasn't completely clear, so I did run Update_mkk-20141129-k5-ALL_install.bin

Kindlet Jailbreak: I ran update_kindlet-jailbreak-20121029_install.bin

Collections Manager: I dragged CollectionsManager.azw2 into my documents folder.

Rebooting: Yes, I've rebooted multiple times.

Order Question: Did I need to run these bins in a specific order?

Attached please find a screen grab of the Kindle directory after after I ran all these installations.

Any suggestions, advice, directions etc. very much appreciated. Thanks.

How does your: "not getting collections manager" differ from the version specific information given in the second and third lines of the "Requirements" section of the first post?

It differs in that I have zero functionality of Collections Manager, not limited functionality as is cautioned as a possibility. Collections Manager does not run at all. My home screen looks exactly the same as it always has, as if I've done absolutely nothing to my device. And yes, I am working with Local, not Cloud collections.

I was unclear whether the "Attention" notice regarding 5.4.2 applied to 5.4.4.2 and assumed it did not, however the notice implies that Collections Manager should work somewhat, and it doesn't

Now that is a clue - your home screen should now include the Collections Manager active document (independent of if it runs or not - it should appear).

First step - get it to show up on the home screen.

OMG - it was there all along - had no idea what I was looking for! I thought once I did all this, it would transform my screen and launch. Didn't realize it would be listed as if it were a document (though, duh, it's in documents), after all the collections. Thank you! Hopefully I won't need to post again.

I am new to kindlets, so am learning. Thanks again!

Since your running the Collections Manager on a firmware version that limits its functionality - -

You might want to also investigate the "Librarian Sync" thread (which has a "batch mode" collections builder included).

No, you must be jailbroken no matter what.

The database file is on the hidden OS partition. You cannot edit it except with custom utilities running on the Kindle.
