OT: I got my flu shot today. It's 31.99 at Walgreens and they do take insurance if you have that. I have to say it was the most painless shot I have gotten. I never thought getting a shot could be a nice experience but it was. The lady was so nice and friendly. I for once didn't feel like cattle being shuffled around. No soreness or side effects. I feel great.

I bought that set, too. I just hate having to use the same cover for all of them, when I split it.

We got our flu shots at our doctor's office last week. Not sure if our insurance will cover it, they submitted it.

What I do is use generate cover on Calibre and use the main cover and part of the new cover but add the name of the story to it.

Yay for getting your flu shot! She told me the flu isn't out yet so they can't say if this shot will work on it when it comes out but it's our best defense. I wonder if it's like that every year?

I always pull my covers for splits off of amazon. Really easy to do. Open the Edit Metadata window in Calibre and move the window to one side of the screen. Open the individual book page on Amazon and move it to the otherside of the screen. Click the little cover to expand the cover view. Left click on the expanded cover and drag it over the cover in the metadata window. Release mouse button. Cover drops into place. Run Polish Books in Calibre when you're done so that cover shows up on your reading device.

Weird about them telling you it isn't out yet, because the flu has been going around here since before school started in late August. Granted, it isn't bad yet, but they talked about it on the news just after the first day of classes.

The fact that the flu is here is bad for Dallas, since they now have a second Ebola case, and it seems like the flu at first and people panic any time they start getting sick.

I got my flu shot several weeks ago and it didn't hurt when I got it, but it did make a lymph node under my arm swell up slightly. Since it was time for my BSE I found it and panicked slightly, but realized it hurt up behind my arm and around to the injection site so figured out what it was. I kept an eye on it for a week, even after it went down and it is fine now. Yes, I am still monitoring it. Everyone should be doing monthly BSEs.(There is my October Breast Cancer Awareness plug)

I suspect she was trying to explain that the flu shots put out each year are a sort of "educated guess" of what is expected to be going around. This page on the CDC website explains it better than I can:

Oh, I know they have to pick which strains they believe will be making the rounds. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don't. I'm just saying they should know what strain is out because we are already getting it in our area. But even if they figure out they picked wrong it is too late to switch now.

And as I typed this I heard from the teacher I work with and she has a fever and feels sick. Great!
