I can say my taste have really change this year in what I want to read. So I am redoing my entire TBR list. I have only 5 books left before this year's reading goal is met. So anything else is extra.

I just read a NA book like that. Could have chopped a good 50 pages out and still had a good book, I think.

It sounds like your categories are similar to mine. I seem to be getting more strict as I go along. I hadn't done much reading in the 5-ish years prior to my first e-reader, and some of the first authors I remember enjoying when I jumped in are waaaaay to anachronistic for me now.

In July our A/C broke (we had to have someone over to look at it over the holiday!), and spent a week staying with my folks. Their Internet is sketchy and being in a house full of people I didn't get much time to myself to figure out what I was going to read. I read several trad Regencies that were already on my Kindle and was surprised that I enjoyed them as much as I did. I had thought they'd be too squeaky-clean and fluffy for me.

Which trad Regencies did you read? I have so many in my ebook collection that I hardly know where to start!

I am shaking! She did everything text book right but I nearly fainted when I saw that rifle in her face. She was so brave! Bars and not usually robbed at gun point like I said St Louis has gone crazy. There has been robberies left and right these past few days.

I agree, I much prefer the build-up to it. I enjoy the "dance" I guess you could say. I suppose that's why I don't read many contemporaries, the historicals are better about drawing it out.

I nearly fainted when I watch that video of my niece. I couldn't sleep last night I kept seeing that thug point that assault rifle in her face. It's bad in St Louis right now. My family is getting scared to leave their homes.

We are no longer doing monthly threads just yearly. I am excited though at October is always a good month for publisher's promos and good freebies!

Thank you! One repubbed Regency that I started reading recently and purchased immediately after finishing the sample is Red, Red Rose by Marjorie Farrell. It's longer than the trads though.
