I don't feel guilty. I read a lot of political and economic commentary prior to the 2004 election, and it did not improve my mood. I have held off since then, too afraid to get back to that place before the 2008 election. I recently read Too Big to Fail, and I really enjoyed it. It was like a murder mystery (of the economy).

Today I read about 150 pages on taxation of component funds. I think I deserve to read not only fiction, but cr%p, after that. I am currently reading samples - I downloaded about 20 pages of them, and then adding about 1 book every 4 pages to my wishlist. Fiction is way better than samples! So there are people who read things even worse than fiction!

That's the best advantage to an ebook you can read and enjoy the tawdry Harlequin Blaze romance novels and no-one will know any better

My guilt concerning non-fiction is actually mostly directed towards school reading that need to be done.

Books for me are first and foremost a learning and growing experience, but I also like to mix things up, which is why I alternate between books that are fiction and non-fiction, dead-serious and lighthearted. That way reading stays interesting. You all know the old saying, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

(Or is that "All work and no play makes Jack?")

I don't want to read ebooks that are too heavy. I get enough of that at work
I read those authors among others as well - somewhere between fiction and non-fiction. I can learn from them and still be entertained. So that covers any potential guilt complexes that might want to have raised their ugly little heads.
