Someone else recently had a problem where the Greasemonkey script didn't work. After he cleared out his cache and then restarted his browser, it then worked perfectly. You might give it a try and see if it doesn't help.

I got a book a couple of days ago, no problems. I recall seeing a report that the latest update to Calibre had broken some plug-ins (which worked again after being reinstalled), but I haven't had that problem, either.

I ran into a very similar problem a few weeks ago. I discovered through some frustrating trial and error that, for some reason, the "key" for that book used just my last name, not my full name as it appears on the credit card. I generated a second key file and haven't had a problem since.

Try a few variations on your name and see if that helps.

Good luck!

I do mean Ghostery. It's the Ghostery script for B&N that gives us back the download link. if you'd have bothered the read the entire thread, you'd have known this.

Be that as it may, there is also this.

I can see where the confusion comes from.

I have read the entire thread but haven't seen a word "Ghostery" even once. I think I'd remember.

Exactly. I have Ghostery for Chrome and double checked whether it's available for FF, and lo, it is. So I though you might have thought of something else.

And if you search the thread you'll see that nowhere in it the script in question is called "Ghostery"—before your yesterday's post, that is. And anyway, I think we'd better clarify lest someone mixes up Ghostery the plugin/extension and Ghostery the Greasemonkey script.

Sorry if I got anyone confused.

You're right - it's the Greasemonkey add-in, running a user script which can be found in various places including:

Color me even more confused -- I was under the impression that the only Greasemonkey script called Ghostery, is the script which was actually called Invisible Web, and grew into the Ghostery extension.

As far as the B&N Greasemonkey script goes, it seems to declare its name as BN-Dload.

There is nothing to mix up -- except Ghostery the plugin/extension and Greasemonkey the plugin/extension. Both start with a "G" (and end with a "y"), which is apparently very confusing.

Well, that's what I thought going by the URL posted, but I never used the script itself and wasn't sure its name is not Ghostery, and since JSWolf insists Ghostery is what he meant, who am I to doubt one of The Elders

I came across this site, looking for ways to have a backup plan for downloading my B&N ebooks.

Will try it this week, if I get ambitious.

No, it's not Ghostery. My mistake. It's Greasemonkey and the B&N script.

I am facing exactly the same problem. never had such problem before, this is really weird. Tried first/second/both/email - nothing work.

Anyone? more ideas?
PS
tried other apps that suppose to remove DRM and none of them work.

It should be the name (first and last) on your B&N account and the default credit card number at the time that you downloaded the file.
