I don't follow what you mean by changing the image removes the custom text. That said, I think this template will do what you want.
Code:
program: 'MerlinMama’s Library' & character('newline') & $#myrating & ' Stars — ' & $#myint & ' Pages' An alternate is Code:
program: 'MerlinMama’s Library' & character('newline') & template('{#myrating} Stars — {#myint} Pages') |

For example, I corrected my custom text to include <br/>. For Book A. When I went to generate cover for Book B, everything was on a single line again, and I had to go add <br/> again. I did hit save, but after 5 tries, each time I changed from one cover to the next (even trying a previous cover I had fixed) it always went back to a single line.
I will try your fix when I get home from work. Thanks! Last edited by MerlinMama; 01-13-2025 at 10:45 AM. |

I did get it to work with \n<br/>\n. Strangely, this gives me a single space rather than a double space. Not sure why |

Is there a quick and easy way I can go back to the previous version before the lines and spacing got all messed up? I've got many many covers (mostly different only on colors) that I use as indicators of a ff genre, and I really really don't want to have to fix them all. Not that I'm even sure how to fix them, since I don't really deal with html coding.
I'd rather just stick with what was there before. I'm hoping if you don't have a way to backtrack that I can fix it via a backup, but otherwise I'm looking at spending a couple hours fixing something that I've had set up and hadn't changed for years. EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out how to navigate github and snag the 2.34. ![]() Last edited by MidwestJen; 01-15-2025 at 04:04 PM. Reason: updated information |

Just installed Generate Cover for the first time. I added it because I downloaded some covers by kuzzzma from this post: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=251
The set has 36 color options. I've added about 8-10 of the color options to the Select Image list. If I select like 50 or 100 books, is there anyway to randomize or alternate between the multiple color images instead of all 50 or 100 being the same one color? |

Another wishlist item: option to select individual colors for various texts (Author/Title/Series/Custom), now they all use the same one, it would be nice to be able to specify each one individually. |

I'm still new to this site and using Calibre, so apologies if this is in the wrong place.
Does anyone know why when I generate a cover, my tags get re-ordered? They are in the desired order on the metadata page, but once I use the Generate Cover plugin, it alphabetizes it. I don't want this bc I use the tag order to know importance to the fic and what the main topics are. However other things from custom columns are fine and stay in the order I put them in. (Yes I've notice and since corrected the typo) |

Something rather odd, I think...
Since I upgraded Calibre from version 7.26 to 8.01, Generate Cover appears unable to render some of the fonts I have installed -- instead, it renders them as a generic sans-serif font. I can pick the fonts from the list, but they are not rendered correctly. Reverting to 7.26 fixes the problem. All the affected fonts appear to be OpenType (.otf) rather than TrueType. But not all OpenType fonts are affected. Windows 10 22H2, 64 bits, AMD Ryzen 7 5700G using the internal video circuits. |

Same issue here. From what I've noticed it only seems to be a problem with fonts that have a font-weight that isn't 400/normal (Bold, Semi-Bold, Light, Extra-Light, etc)
I'm on Calibre version 8.0.0 System Information: Spoiler:

I suspect some Qt 6.8.2 related issue. |

I have this exact same inquiry. I would really love to just randomize covers in bulk. Bumping this!

As for the workaround, use calibre 7.x which never had the issue. Then just hope that one day a future calibre upgrade uses a later version again of Qt that may have the problem fixed... absolutely nothing I can do about it. |
