That's the recommended way to start KOReader through KUAL on modern FW.
(Basically, it stands for As Soon As Possible, because the default mode does some waiting around to avoid some minor graphical issues which are now less relevant on FW >= 5.6). Last edited by NiLuJe; 02-26-2016 at 08:56 PM. |

have a problem with image display
differential between the same picture displayed in kindle native and koreader on my kindle voyage.
it seems like koreader use less color depth , but screenshot of the picture in koreader is perfect, so i dont think it is a render problem. more detail(click to zoom): koreader kindle native is it normal? Last edited by snakeyou; 02-27-2016 at 09:18 AM. |

How about giving some technical details, such as produced by the ImageMagick toolset. (See: FGA, #10, troubleshooting links) |

for file in *.png ; do ; convert ${file} -filter LanczosSharp -resize 758x1024 -background black -gravity center -extent 758x1024 -colorspace Gray -dither FloydSteinberg -remap ~SVN/Configs/trunk/Kindle/Touch_Hacks/ScreenSavers/src/linkss/etc/kindle_colors.gif -quality 75 -define png:color-type=0 -define png:bit-depth=8 dithered_${file} ; done |

That was an image you had created yourself. I first had read that as if it was an image in a book (since you only mentioned using two different readers to display it). |

Hi everyone,
I got a used DXG today and directly installed KOReader ![]() While I can now view epub files, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible to navigate them via the table of contents. This throws me back to the home screen. Here is what I did: - Put Update_jailbreak_0.13.N_dxg_install.bin into root directory and updated - Put Update_mkk-20141129-dxg-B009_install.bin into root directory and updated - Put KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 into documents directory - Extracted koreader-kindle-arm-kindle-linux-gnueabi-v2015.11-11-g16509e2.zip - this gives me subdirectories 'extensions, koreader, launchpad' - and also moves the zip file into the same directory where those subdirectories are. So I copied BOTH the subdirectories as well as the ZIP file to the root directory. Was that OK? FW on the DXG is 2.5.8 Or should I rather try Duokan? Navigation seems to at least partly rely on touch devices, if I choose to navigate by page number, a virtual keyboard comes up which I can't access, and the hardware keyboard does not work here. |

@elektronaut: There's been some keyboard love since that build. I should have an updated one up soon.
On the other hand, what you describe sounds more like a crash, so maybe not taken care of: what's in koreader/crash.log after such a crash? |

@elektronaut: I'm in the process of updating the builds, so you'll have one to test soon. (Note that while I appear to already have updated the snapshots listing, the current builds are hosed because I did something stupid ;p).
EDIT: Builds updated. CRe is still screwy, thouh. The 'good' news is that it's also screwy on official builds (slightly less so, but, still screwy). Last edited by NiLuJe; 03-02-2016 at 08:42 PM. |
