I don't think repeating a name twice in the title makes it a compound name. But hey, I don't make the rules.
I will (shamelessly) post a replacement.

Flowers for Algernon, by Kathy Mar

Algernon was very human, in most respects, to Charlie Gordon. From the lyrics:

"If you remember, put some flowers on his grave
He was my little friend for all the comfort that he gave
He never called me dummy, he was always on my side
I was so very sorry when he died
..."

"The Camila Song" by The Guy Who Sings Your Name Over and Over

Some people are ...intense. We should invite "The Guy" to our thread. I hereby pick the track#1 of "Fun With Names Songs Vol.1", and close all other submissions from the series (now at Vol.15 I believe), since only the lyrics and title vary over the same 1:16 long melody.

BTW the albums can be purchased on Amazon, iTunes and Spotify. Go figure.

I think the "Jacob" song should automatically make ineligible any other variation of "Happy Birthday", since the only difference is the change of the name (even when admitedly the musical score is different) and that doesn't make it an original song.

But I don't make the rules and I admire a technique that could offer an infinite number of future posts.
Hmmm. I've seen several entries from that "guy." I think they tread dangerously close to the "birthday" problem. I agree that one entry should do it for him.

Of Mice and Men too. In the realm of John Steinbeck and Daniel Keyes.

I hadn't considered this when creating the rules, but it also is an issue with parody songs since the music is (generally) the same but the lyrics are different. So, I will come up with a rule based on the rules concerning covers version I read in the book Cover Me by Ray Padgett:

- Parodies of an already-posted song are allowed as long as the lyrics in the parody are significantly different (more than 50%). However, cover versions of the same song cannot be used again even if a minor change is made. An example of this is "Superstar" by the Carpenters, where one line in the song was modified but the rest of the song was unchanged.

When it comes to covers, according to Cover Me if you wish to make a minor change to the lyrics of a song when recording a cover, you have to get approval of the songwriter first.

For parodies, an example are the songs "Me And Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin, and "Me And Mr. Magoo" by Bob Rivers. While the music is the same (and with Bob Rivers parodies they put great effort into making the music of the parody sound the same as the original to the point where you could mistake it for the original until the singing starts), the lyrics of the parody are completely different. Thus, both songs would be eligible for use.

The lyrics are definitely not "family friendly."
