I long ago quit going to the official Apple forums because of this same reason. Heaven forbid you report a problem. I got so mad one day I told an @#$% poster with a zillion posts and rewards who kept annoying me that he was nothing but an ipodophile. That was several years ago and I am still banned from the official Apple forums for life! ![]() |

I'll admit it: AMAZON IS PERFECT. That says it all. Every Amazon eReader is PERFECT and sells at a reasonable price. I would no more try to find defects in Amazon eReaders than I would try to find defects in Dell PC's or HP printers. I live with the minor problems and work around them.
I have not yet seen any Amazon eReader which would cause me to criticize them. I will never use an Apple device even if I receive it as a gift. I just re-gift it when it happens. If some of you folks criticize every Amazon eReader you buy and then post it all here, why buy anymore Amazon eReaders at all? Buy your Apple eReaders and enjoy them. I have noticed the exact same ID's this year as last year with almost duplicate postings. Come on, how could lightning strike twice? If I see the exact same ID's with lengthy criticisms of the Kindle Fire HDX after Oct 18, then, we must remember, three points make a straight line. |

Hmm, Created the pictures OK, but tried to get by without hand coding a HTML document around them, Mobipocket Creator Publisher Edition (V4.2 Build 41) insisted on resizing them to a variety of different sizes, while directly exporting to PDF from DrawPlus and then sending via whispersync convert resulted in an unopenable document on my K3.

This is from the Kindle Developer Forum who are currently looking at the source code/firmware 5.4.0. Has any of the new PW2 owner noticed hyphenation? Would be great to have it in German books.

For those of us that have not yet ordered a PW2, but plan to, will we receive one of the perfectly good, although utterly unusable ones that someone has returned...with the shame purged from its silicon soul of course...or will we receive a brand new, perfectly good, although equally unusable one?

Well if mine has a yellow screen, grey text, pin holes or smudges it goes back as faulty. I have been promised a white screen and black text and that is what I expect.
Life is far too short to put up with bullshit. Yes I've had bad news today and life is definitely too short for crap. Last edited by Josieb1; 10-05-2013 at 02:48 PM. |

Amen to that. (Edit - hope your bad news isn't too bad)
Perfection isn't expected, but as close to it as possible would be nice.... otherwise I might as well save myself more than half the money and just buy myself a Nook Glowlight. ![]() Last edited by soulfuldog; 10-05-2013 at 02:44 PM. |

I almost cancelled my order to buy a cheap Nook Glowlight, and it's still an option tbh. |

I received my PW2 Tuesday and got one without pinholes. I had good luck with my PW1 last year. I did promise myself that if I got a PW with minor issues that I wasn't going to do the return thing to death. Life is short , yes. Which means I'm not going to stress over a gadget.
My iphone 5 came out of the box last year with a tiny nick on the bezel. I did not return it. My Kobo ereader had a tiny light leak- kept that too. Had these things affected the function of the gadgets in question, I would have returned them. If my PW had pinholes and they affected my reading, yes I would return it. One on the bottom or along the edge? Then I most likely would not. Everyone is different though and Amazon is awesome about returns. Hope everyone ends up happy in the long run.. |

Picture Sequence (1 per Page): 01 Full Screen Black 02 Full Screen White 03 Quarter Screen Checkerboard 04 Negative of 03 05 3x4 Pixel Checkerboard 06 Negative of 05 07 Horizontal Lines 08 Negative of 07 09 Vertical Lines 10 Negative of 09 Corrected Version - Everything now based on 768 by 1024 pixels. Kindle Test Cards.azw On my K3 going from 04 to 05 produced noticable ghosting, the rest I put down to aliasing (displaying PW resolution pictures on lower resolution K3 screen). Hope it's of use.
