Put it under a microscope and you will hundreds of pin holes. Look at your skin under that microscope and you will see pin holes, imperfections, bacteria, etc.

Ah, I gotcha. I guess for me I wanted to try another one right away, so it seemed an easy option. I'm not holding my breath on them fixing the pinhole and dust speck problem. They knew about them last year and I'm surprised to see it happen again this year. I assume they are using cheaper production to make the kindles now. It's amazing to me now looking back that my previous Kindles (Kindle keyboard and touch) were pristine right off the bat. Obviously adding the second lighted screen has introduced a lot of potential problems, or their quality control is seriously slipping. Maybe some of both.

FoxConn in China makes all the Kindles and iPads and they use kids on the assembly lines.

Give the kids a break. No one is perfect.

My illusion on my PW1 was that 1" light leak on bottom left side.

Would you say on the new PW that with the light turn down does it still feel like you are reading through a window?

Until someone can figure out custom fonts on a PW2 I am holding off.

Converting with an embedded font works for me.

It doesn't seem that way to me, no. Then again, it didn't seem like that to me on the PW1 either so I'm probably no help. Was this something people were mentioning a lot?

Palatino isn't a bad font. But font's are very individual. I've suggested that everyone who wants to be able to to choose a custom font actually email kindle-feedback@amazon.com and ask for it. That's the most likely way we're going to see something happening.

Thanks to you I did email this address... not about custom fonts, but about a frustration I have with the "manage your kindle" page. Within an hour, a CS rep had emailed me back, summarized my issue in his own words, and promised he would pass my suggestion along to the right people. I'm not saying this means my suggestion is going to be implemented tomorrow or ever (if it is, I'll let you know), but I felt better that someone read my email and got back to me, anyway.

Not alot but some were and I tend to agree that it does seem like you are looking through a window when reading on PW1 with no light.

But that doesn't work for Mobi does it? Personal cloud has yet to support KF8 of does it now. It's been awhile since I tried.

I just put the light down on both my PW1 and PW2 and they look the same to me, so I'm guessing you'd feel the same about the PW2. Although I can't be sure because I don't notice the window effect. Do you mean the text seems set further back? If that is what you mean, I don't see that, no. The text on my PW's seem set the same as it does on my touch. At least to my eyes.

I guess I could take a large coat are something to BB, buy a PW2, go to mar car, then test it out under the cover of the coat. Of course I might get mistaken for a terrorist. But if it had issues I could just take it right back inside BB. That would be much better than driving all the way back over there later. I do notice that most of the BB stores in my area now show them in stock. I'm still debating on whether to get a PW2 though, and probably won't until at least mid month.

I've owned at least one each of K2, K3, KDXG, K4 Silver, K Touch, and PW1. I never had any issues with any of those models except the PW1.
