There are many people that do not see any need to spend money on stuff *THEY* don't need or want, and with regard to technology, those people are often women. Yeah, I know some men too, who think the same, with regards to handbags, shoes, and clothing and such that their wives want to buy.

Not to be hateful here... but when I hear one of my colleagues saying: "I'll have to ask my accountant if I can get that <insert some $100 stuff>", my hair stands on end. Dude. You're a guy bringing in like 70% or more of all money into the household, and you have to ask or even BEG your wife to get something like an e-reader? Come on. It's an e-reader. Not a fracking Mercedes.

Some time ago when I was (even) younger, I actually had colleagues working full-time who talked like that while they didn't even have a wife. They had girlfriends, 8-10 years younger than they were. In college.

Those are going to be some happy relationships... NOT.

I wonder when women realise that men just like gadgets and stuff, and men finally understand that women like shoes and clothing and handbags and whatnot. OK, there are exceptions, of course. As long as one can afford it, and the money needed doesn't break the bank, what the frack does it matter?

You probably won't believe me when I tell you that this is one of the foremost reasons, maybe even the most important, that I'm still single, and I will *STAY* single. I won't beg for anything, with anyone if it's about trivial things like these.

I'm sure there are women like me, in the same situation with their men, besides Chi Cygni. Maybe they should all marry me. Uh... No. Wait. DON'T! BAD IDEA!

I am in the same situation as you are Chi, with one husband and two kids saying the same to me (kids thinking I have too many devices, and the money should be invested in a new wii, or a playstation, or an xbox..you get the drill), and a dog barking if I try to conceal sthing behind my back...

I read on Mantano last night. I love the new Mantano redesign. Really nice looking and a pleasure to read on. I also have the cloud service with Mantano so I can sync my books just like I can with Amazon. It has collections too All my books are already in epub so there's no work there. I just wish my custom font work with italics and bold type. Mantano is never going to fix that!

Last, but not least, the Accessibility features of the HDX 2013 do not even exist on the PW 2013 or the HD 2012.

It's not in continuous sync. There is a sync button as you now know it's under settings.

I don't use bookmarks but I am glad you like that feature. X-Ray for books has always been wonky. the only book I own it works is Stephanie Plum series. X-Ray for movies and music is cool though.

The Paperwhite will always be superior for reading compare to the HDX reader. It just has way more features for reading that are easy to use and they work! Plus it has covers for all books and docs and you can view them together! On the HDX they are still separate it's just a pain and the docs don't have covers like they do on the PW. However I love my HDX and plan to read on it and the PW1.
