Comic Sans.
If I want to read a paper book that isn't written in this font and has no e-book available, I first re-type the book so I can read it on my e-reader. I now refuse to read in any other font, as I've become aware of the fact that Comic Sans is the epitome of font design and elegance. |

As far as Comic Sans itself goes, I think it is best if used sparingly for a specific effect (such as to indicate text handwritten by a character within a story). To me, one of the reasons for the dislike for Comics Sans is its massive overuse (I often see it used on stores for their large lighted signs). |

I'm sure I have linked to this before, but it is always a joy to re-read, so there:
I'M COMIC SANS, ASSHOLE. (Strong language warning.) |

Has anyone tried any of the special "etext" versions of things like Palatino and Sabon?
http://www.myfonts.com/search/etext/ They're kind of expensive to try ![]() |

Where did you hear this? Comic book lettering has been done by computer for a long, long time now (early books from Image way back in the 1990's were almost all computer lettered IIRC) and I'm pretty sure it is dominant right now. Considering that even *pencilling* is digital now it isn't surprising that lettering would be by computer instead of by hand.

I remember John Byrne in the early nineties talking about how he paid to have a digital font created based on his lettering and used that for his comics (Next Men, IIRC). |

For words and short phrases on a screen, I've preferred Verdana since I first found it in Windows NT in 1996. Pity that it can't be set in Windows 8.x and 10 anymore, except when using trickery in the registry. Now everything in Windows is in Segoe UI. |
