Must be a serif font for me. My eyes aren't the best and those work best for me. I only read on kindle e-ink readers so the first one (K1) I think started with the caecelia. Then on the K3 it was the condensed version of it. When I got me PW1, I had a hard time finding the right font on it with the right size. Palatino was ok, but to large or to small, baskerville to thin and for some reason its caecelia never as nice as the one on the K3.
I now read on my basic kindle and the font is perfect again with the caecelia condensed. |

I almost always use Amasis on my Kobo HD. I take advantage of the font tuning that's built into Kobo eink devices and make it a bit darker.

I like PT Sans on my tablet. I never changed the font on my Sony, so not sure what it is.

I'm very picky about fonts. I've never been able to find a font that's perfect for me, so as I result I've gone through a lot of them. However, I do have a few favorites.
I'm going through a period at the moment where I quite like reading in bold, "messy,"/handwritten fonts. My current favorite is the Comic Sans font that came with a Duokan installation on my K4. I've actually been using it for a week or more, which is something of a record for me. Last edited by sneakyspider; 02-08-2014 at 08:31 PM. Reason: spelling error |

My favorite font is whatever the publisher chooses. I don't change the settings.

Therefore I've started to look into other fonts. Now, my favorite font is Palatino, on the KPW1. I'm now used to that font, and the one I started out with at the very beginning (Caecilia) now looks extremely fat and clunky. Honestly, the only two decent fonts in the KPW1 are Palatino and Baskerville, depending if you want a somewhat larger or smaller font. (At the same size setting, Palatino is about half a size bigger than Baskerville.) When reading books, I really don't like sans-serif fonts. None of my books ever used that. for websites, I don't really care. |

If I need to write something that uses a lot of numbers, I tend to use Georgia. I just filed a ban request. It's forbidden to like that font. http://www.comicsanscriminal.com/ ![]() Last edited by Katsunami; 02-08-2014 at 07:20 PM. |

It takes a little effort to set up, but it's less work than having to embed fonts in all my books & then sideload them. (I love Palatino, but not on the PW. It needs a bit more weight for my eyes.) |

I have been using Georgia lately, as it seems the right size of font. I also like Amasis, but sometimes it's either too big or too small.

Ah, understandable. I've jailbroken for fonts since the K2--it was basically a necessity with the lower contrast screen on that model, so I didn't hesitate at doing the same to the PW2. It's a pity that Amazon got rid of the workaround that so many used with the PW1.

I've used Droid Sans exclusively on my two eInk readers, and am very happy with it.

I generally read with Palatino (size third from the smallest) on PW1.
There was one book recently that had odd text size, so no Palatino size was comfortable, and after a lot of experimenting I ended up with Caecilia condensed at some medium size. The default (Caecilia) was very comfortable on Kindle 3 but somehow it doesn't work nearly as well on the Paperwhite. |
