The pgaskin firmware is what killed my Glo in the first place. It caused vertical dashed lines to run along the screen during the update, leaving me looking for help flashing the disk. I was trying to update the device to the 2024 firmware in hope it would run smoother than the original fimrware from 2012. I was able to flash the disk and start again. I even tried the firmware update again and it killed the device again. So now all I can do is flash the sd card (I am using a new card now) but cannot get past the registration part. I've spend hours trying to do the SQlite3 trick to bypass the activation - no luck so far.

I would like the firmware image for a Kobo N249 Clara HD and the Kobo N249 Clara HD Rev B version as I'm not 100% sure which device I have.
Thanks

The pgaskin firmware is just a link to the OFFICIAL Kobo download location; no more, no less.

Nothing says you have to download the newest version; download an older one if you want but do pick one newer than what you currently have

Do make sure to pick the Glo and NOT the Glo HD

Yes, I've tried two different versions now, but for the Glo, not Glo HD and both cause vertical dashed lines to appear during the update, corrupting the memory card and requiring a re-flash.

My Kobo is back to life ! Thank you so much for your help !

For info it was a problem with the internal sd card when the system tried to write on it. When I managed to get the card out (not easy it was glued) I was unable to format it which seems to confirm the writing issue. Nevertheless reading was ok so I dumped an image of the sdcard and I then copy it to a new sd of the same capacity.
Everything works fine now.

Thanks again !

This sounds then like damage to the Glo itself during the disassembly/ reassembly process.

I don't think that could be it, because the device was never disassembled before the attempted firmware update. The crash with dashed lines came before the first time I removed the back to access the card to re-flash it.

Interesting. Over the time, you have posted 6 messages in this thread each one asking for 5 different images for Kobo ereaders. Are you collecting defunct Kobos and trying to revive them?

Are you using the original µSD card or a replacement card? Also, you are the first person who has mentioned their Glo N613 had the µSD card glued down.

That sounds like an issue with the µSD card exceeding it's write life and going into a read only mode.

I tried the original 2GB card, a new 2GB card and a new 32GB card. I have never mentioned any card being glued down. I think you have mistaken me for someone else (Gammon59).

Hi, could I get the firmware image for Kobo N418 Libra 2 please?
Also, could I get a link to a tutorial on how to remove the µSD Card from a Libra 2?

I believe my Libra 2 is bricked, it's showing symptoms identical to the ones described in this thread:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=367967

Thanks a bunch!
