rcS is changed in 3.3.0. Now the line that starts nickel is

/usr/local/Kobo/nickel -platform kobo -skipFontLoad &

So you have to substitute -qws with -platform kobo in the installer and uninstaller.

Lucas: I don't know if I am doing something wrong. I changed the 4 lines with -qws to -platform kobo in in the install file, and nightmode still isn't working.

adapted, but light button not active nightmode
but using "/mnt/onboard/.kobo/nightmode.sh" works perfect.

I second this.

I just found out this forum, my Glo froze and I was able to recover it with the help of some people here that had the same problem.

Now I found out that there's a night mode available and I installed it but couldn't get it to work.

I have 0 programming knowledge, I would love to be able to use this little hack, it's incredible useful.

tl;dr: Update for FW 3.3.0 available!

What changed:
As Lucas Malor already pointed out, the line to start nickel changed, so the (un)installer had to be adapted. Also someone had the brilliant idea that nickel needs exclusive access to the hardware buttons (see this strace):

fcntl64(8, F_SETFD, FD_CLOEXEC)         = 0
ioctl(8, EVIOCGRAB, 0x1)

Now I simply ignore EVIOCGRAB ioctls, and haven't found any problem with it so far.
I also added a check to the logging mechanism for debug builds, since it would crash the device when plugged to a computer.
