No, we don't want to take over the world. Just the old borders (and a mutual assistance/trade pact with Hawaii!). In the proper Texas tradition, when you are asked for help (and Your Majesty did ask), I helped...

Okay, since we're there:

Yeah. People who jump into practical discussions about universally-understood concepts like goods trading and waste time with silly semantics like "What's the definition of fair? What's the definition of right?"; who proclaim a God-given right to simply take whatever they can get their grubby hands on, things that they would have no prayer of being able to create for themselves, but feel they have a right to enjoy as if it is a required medicine or food group; who feel they have the right to tell me how much I deserve to earn for my work, without knowing anything about me, my life, my effort to create, or the reasons behind my desire to entertain with words; who speak of oppression but have no concept of living under a truly oppressive political system; who label anyone who asks even a penny for the works they create as evil monsters out to steal the wealth of the world; who also label anyone who tries to work out a simple and publicly-acceptable way to collect said pennies as "Big Brother," "Hitler," "Sheriff of Nottingham," etc, etc; and who continually misquote and purposely seek to get a rise out of me, hoping I will slit my wrists in frustration, and thereby rid the world of the poster child for the Apocalypse.

Yeah. Them.

Sick of 'em.

Dysutopia, datutopia, they're all Nowhere Man (as the Beatles play in the background). Keep writing Steve, more people will read what you write than will listen to the Nowhere Man....

We aren't conspirators here in Texas. We shoot people in the front, not the back. (That's when we're not shooting off our mouths....)

(Actually I am plotting something, but it's only for the MR world. Coming soon....(heh, heh, heh))

Truly a worthy rant. Not much traction with or indeed resemblance to reality, but that is what rants are for. I hope you feel better and didn't burst/slit/pop a vein or something.

Ta.

Right, a rant of my own. It is sunday, the stores are closed and I am out of coffee.

Waaaay to woozy from my back medications to yell at anyone about anything. I am floating, I am flying .... and it's Desert Grandma you really have to worry about. I just take words like "ugly" and chalk them up to personal opinion. It's just that a prefer personal opinion to be stated as personal opinion rather than absolute fact.

I cannot believe how completely whacked out I am right now. I was going to build a rolling litter box caddy for the master bedroom today .... but I am starting to wonder about the wisdom of pulling out my power tools. I think I short nap may be in order first.

Appropos of nothing ... has anyone gotten a text message or anything from any of our members in the Houston area??

I think the stopover in Singapore or Hong Kong (which I am disturbing myself by continually writing "Hong Kock") is 3-4 hours (though I'd stay for at least weekend in Hong Koc...Kong), and the flights leave Paris late in the evening (about 11:30pm?). They usually get here early in the morning, about 6 or 7 am.

...and, as mentioned, icecream (shh, but, not to provoke an argument...Massimo's = best...icecream...ever!).

That's definitely a possiblity. When friends visited from the States, their airfares were something like US$4-5K, whereas the same purchased here were as low as AUS$2K (which sometimes included 2 nights accomodation in Hollywood). Note that these were the same QANTAS flights, but you could not purchase them "in reverse" so to speak. I think international visitors subsidise international airfares for Australian customers...which I'm okay with.

The one reason I am not currently in Paris/Venice/Nepal/et cetera: two dogs. In my case, it's the amount of time I'd be away from them, and not actually trusting anyone to mind them.

yeah, i'll think about it. don't expect me this month though.

Spent all day yesterday "cleaning" a PC to give to a friend of my mom's whose PC died. Had to strip off Linux, as well as clean out old accounts and uninstall potentially confusing and irrelevant software. ALL DAY. ALL &(*@#(^ DAY.

On the other hand, my mom did treat me to Thai food when I drove down to drop the computer off.
