:mock confusion: I thought we'd agreed on "Official Consort".

And, good grief, are we all going to leave Zelda's great straight line go unpunished? Well, ok.

No Taylor. "Official Consort" is your title. The rest of us fend for ourselves.

Besides, the only way to punish a queen is off her head and who among us would do such a foul deed?

wood, i'm so glad that i have nothing to fear from you. it's always reassuring to know that beheading is explicitly excluded from treatments your friends would reserve for you.

Somehow "Beloved Beheaded" sounds too much like something Marc would say.

Besides, beheading has been out of vogue for weeks, months even.

I sometimes call my husband my "kept man," because he stays at home and deals with all the stuff I don't want anything to do with.

I always wanted to be a "kept man". What my had in mind was kept in a cell.

I think she was going to decorated it with padding. I know I heard her say something about a "padded cell".

Yes, exactly, Good Professor Wood. No need to get all antsy, Zee, and start running around like a Queen with her head cut off (that's how the saying goes, right?).

Cheers,

I would do it. One the head is removed, she'd have an excellent career in politics.

Does she have to say, "Let them eat cake"? I remember it to be a phrase for French Queens.

i wouldn't mind being a kept woman sometimes. maybe i could switch with taylor ; he can take over being queen, and i'll be consort. i think he said his duties were having a dry, firm smile, and a dazzling handshake, or something like that. i could probably do that. and padding would be a nice change, frankly. you've no idea how hard an unpadded wall is when you run into it a full speed, sheesh.

slightly antsy again. not (yet) running around like a queen with her head cut off though.

i've really never had any political ambitions, nate (i hasten to point out). none whatsoever. really, not a one. (i'll just be waaaaay over here until you put that guillotine away).

i think that's supposed to happen before you cut the head off. so you can't cut my head off until you've heard me say "Le--" um, that phrase. (ouf, that was close.)

In order to say that we would have to a) run out of bread and b) have plenty of cake and I don't think the Great Llama Shopping Expedition has returned yet, has it?
(if I've missed the chocolate I won't be a happy fairy!!!!)

Yum.... cake. Can I have chocolate?

Somehow the term "Let them eat cake" has lost significance in translation and through time.

You should bake a cake and set in on the porch of a neighboring building. Next time the kids in the building are making noise just open the window and yell "Let them eat cake".

Eh, I remember reading somewhere that the "let them eat cake" comment was one of the most misunderstood comments ever made.

If I recall correctly, day old cake sold for much less than day old bread ... because since there was no crust on the cake, it tended to go stale sooner.

So, if there was no bread for the poor to buy (or that they could afford), there was very likely to be available and affordable cake.

That's as I remember what I read anyway ... but you watch, I will have totally messed it up (sort of like with three sheets to the wind).
