So a cat-free diet then?

It's the same sound that anybody makes when they sing "I Will Always Love You."

I wonder if Whittie was somehow related to Prometheus/Samson?

Do you know that there are more threads in The Lounge than in any other forum section here at MR save the uploads? Neither a vent nor a rant this be - just an observation. Life, life, where was it that I put that anyway?

The cat in my avatar is the scourge of the neighborhood and has cowed FedEx delivery men.

True story: Last week the doorbell rang and the FedEx delivery man asked me if my cat would hurt him. Apparently, the cat was lying on the walkway and wouldn't let him approach the front door. She was hissing at him and would not move. He tried knocking on the garage door but of course that didn't work. He finally took the large envelope and waved it at the cat. She retreated to the front porch still hissing. She finally gave up and let him get to the front door. Jeri hisses at anyone who approaches the front door. Keeps away the salesmen, Jehovah's Witnesses, and neighborhood kids.

No, I meant more of a reincarnation kind of thing.

We have a cat who likes to torment people. She'll roll on her back and wave her tummy at people, then hiss, claw, and bite anyone who comes close. When new people come to visit, we always advise them to completely ignore her. (She does like to be admired from a distance, however.)

Our other cat (only two at present, due to allergies) is the nicest cat I can remember ever meeting-- and has two neurons, I think. But this sunny personality combined with nearly no memory nor common sense allows him to continue to get along with the other one, despite how she tries to mess with his head.

Perhaps in a recycled soul way (reincarnation.) According to my wife, Whittie was my rabbit and just put up with her. Later with Louise the roles were reversed. We have only one at a time due to her allergies. This also forces us to spend more time with them which is not a bad thing. Rabbits can be very friendly and they all have distinct personalities.

Is there a prize for the person who makes the most posts without actually buying an e-reader device? Coz I must be well on my way.
My (boring) practical side is telling me it's sensible to hold off another few weeks to a) save up a few more pennies and b) see if the Mentor's going to look like a contender. But it's my birthday in just over 3 weeks and I'm getting an operation in September and I really really really want a new toy to distract me from the fact that everything else is a bit boring and/or crap just now. I'm putting off buying new books, too, because it seems like a waste of money which I should be saving towards my e-reader!
Right, now that I've bored you all with the blurb (my poor boyf's sick of hearing it) and purged my impatience I should be able to exert some self control for just...a...little....bit....longer.......

If you go back to posts before september 2006, most people logged in had no reader at all and were waiting for the Sony. Only the iLiad was on the market as far as eink and most posts were rants. Of course there were other means of portable reading such as PDAs, phones and laptops. Still today, many people don't have a reader, don't forget that this is the reason for MR to exist in the first place; distributing information on mobile reading.
You have a benefit for waiting, more, cheaper and better tools are always on the way. Hang in there!
