When my sister bought the house and had an inspection done the inspector remarked that the window was indeed difficult to open/close. I know there are kits so you can do the maintenance yourself, but I don't think that was ever done, so I'd rather have a professional look at it now.

Applying an ice pack to the back of neck now causes me to near-faint. Used to use it in previous years for heatwaves. Not anymore I guess.

I have cooling towels, you wet them and have them cool by waving them about for a couple of second, "snap" them like a whip (quicker) or hold them in front of a fan. It stays cool for a while and it's really nice in your neck without getting too cold. If it warms up you wave or snap it to cool it down again. I used it when working in the store during hot days.

I also have a neck fan, which works, but starts to annoy me after a bit because of the rigid plastic (sensory thing for me).

Yesterday, someone slammed into me at the farmers market and knocked me down and walked away. thankfully other people got a chair for me to pull myself up.

Today my side is all black and blue (on bloodthinners). Ow...

My sister's been having a hard time finding a reliable roofer. She wants to get the roof and dormer inspected and discuss having a small window added to the roof in the hallway.

The first roofer she contacted kept saying he would contact her to make an appointment and he never did. She found another one and made an appointment for the 18th, he said he would be there between 7 am and 8 am. We got up really early (for us) and he didn't show. Never contacted my sister again and she decided to let it go. Guess who was first ringing the doorbell and then calling my sister shortly after 7 am this morning. She told him to leave, he didn't have a good excuse, just that he there was an customer emergency on the 19th and apparently now he finally had the time to visit us. He admitted he forgot to let us know about the emergency and reschedule, but we were unreasonable to tell him we weren't interested anymore.

So, the search for a reliable roofer continues.

Chuck Mangione's recent passing triggered "On Green Dolphin Street" to take up residence in my head - far as I know he never played it… ¿◇-|-◇?

Grill on my gas stove has been playing up, I only use it to make toast.

I used airtasker to find a repairer - quotes range from $150 to $220. I can get a gold plated electric toaster for that… or give up toast for less.

Miles Davis played flugelhorn of course, I guess that's the connection with Mangione.
