I think I love you. I'd offer you my left foot in marriage, but I believe we are already married after we both managed to post the "Ninja Squirrel" photo near-simultaneously. I also am currently married to Queen Zee (she has my right foot), though we're currently undergoing marriage counseling to reconcile our irreconcilable differences over the spelling of "Jebus" (and whether he is sweet in his infantile form on a crispy wafer of baked dough). Mindy and I are also betrothed (left patella) having cemented our engagement with an exchange of Ood. I probably should mention that to her...

("Look, I know I don't play on your team, but, see, we're engaged now. I'm sorry, Mindy, but there's nothing I can do about it, unless Pshrynk starts to offer counseling pro bono...he he he, "bono"").

Yours is a wonderfully, delicious rant, so awe-inspiring that, unlike the miniscule irritations that vent from my spleen, one can only hope that in some way it is eventually resolved to your overwhelming satisfaction.

All of my best friends call me crazy ... with lots of affection. I don't see the need to correct them ... mostly because they are right. So, feel free. I am not easily offended. In fact it's very difficult to offend me ... about the only thing that really pisses me off is when someone calls me a liar. Then I go completely apeshit.

After the developer's attorney asked me about my kingly lineage, he very quickly added (in his best Southern drawly attorney voice) "Are you being COMPLETELY TRUTHFUL with us??"

I said yes, then went home and prepared a forty or so page PDF document containing the Lewis family tree (going from my mother back to a certain Elizabeth Warner in the 1600s ... and from her back to her mother, Mildred Reade Warner, and through Mildred's daddy, George Reade ... and on back to Eddie III, Willie the Conquerer ....) complete with annotations and articles (including one from the London Times dated 1957).

I also gave the SOB a complete set of articles on my Uncle "Rosie" who was knighted by the current Queen. Yep, I had an uncle who was a KBE (Vice Admiral (Sir) Levering Smith -- one of the greatest scientists and engineers this country has ever seen). So, let him stick that in his pipe and then stick his pipe up his arse.

It's ok if you love me. Lots of people do ... in cyberspace. It's when they meet me in real life that they give it second thoughts. As one man I met for a blind date put it "You are simply not pretty enough to pull off being that smart."

Got it. Smart is ok if you are Hedy Lamarr, but not if you are Zelda Gilroy. (For those of you too young to get either of those references, please feel free to Google away ... I'll wait.)

Oh my ... I'm ranting again. Lordy but this feels GOOD!!

Back in the 80s we had a pet dwarf rabbit (just under 3 lbs.) named Wittnauer (we called him WHittie) that we would leave with friends when we went out of town. One of our rabbit sitting friends had a 15+ lbs. cat that liked to scrap with the dogs in the neighborhood. One weekend while they were rabbit sitting, Wittie escaped from his cage. When they found him he had cowed the cat into a corner. It seemed that the cat avoided Wittie after that and ran whenever he was out of his cage.

That's been done. I belong to this (worldwide) group of cat lovers (and dog lovers too ... we do have some of those). We have had an email list for about 15 years now.

We make up all sorts of adventures for our cats and dogs. For example, my cat, Newton, hijacked a "toona bote" and a bunch of the cats went out to sea looking for the "Cadbury Monster." Now, the CM was a huge brown sea serpent who laid lovely chocolate eggs, once a year around Easter time.

And, on the boat, there was a kitty named Pauline, who liked to dress up in gold lame spandex (I didn't say I had any control over these adventures ... someone would just start one, and everyone else would put in whatever his or her cat or dog was going to add to the action). She (as I recall) was the one who eventually dove overboard and took down the monster single pawed.

Anyway, after the trip, they all repaired to my house where they had a barbeque of Cadbury steaks washed down with Nip Wine. And ... they trashed the house.

But, I digress ... I have been listed as a saint in the Temple of Bastet. "Saint Auntie Ricky of the Many Cats" ... that's my formal title.

I used to do illustrations for some of the adventures, and for the Fur Ball each year (on the date of the Jellical Moon). The one below I did years ago to commemorate Winston escorting his little sister Allison to her very first Fur Ball. He's wearing the eyepatch because one eye was shot out before I got him. They had a great time ... Winston dancing with his beloved Miranda, and Allison with her handsome Kitsu.



Oh, man .... that was one of the best Fur Balls ever.

And, if I ever lapse into "meowchat" (which sounds a bit like the stuff at LOL cats) then you'll all just have to bear with me.

Oh, and a side note: when I was in college (at UCLA) guess who my dean was?? Sheila James Kuehl. The very same. She later went to law school and taught at Loyola Los Angeles Law School while I was a student there. I think she went to the California State Senate after that .....
