In my case, I've already wore two nibs out of three... Yes, I frequently use the handwriting feature, even to draw.

And because I'm a happy french user, I can't even buy easily a replacement pack from Sony... on this subject, would someone have identified (and tested!!) an identical nib in another device (such as Wacom for example?).

I recommand to new buyers to ask for some replacement nibs while purchasing the DPT, just in case...

Does anybody know how to access Dropbox or use Dropbox, where I store my files ?

First impression with DPT S1 are non encouraging:

1) Wifi receiver is very weak. Cannot connect but very near to the wifi Access Point. Just two rooms away with open doors it fails (but other pc, phones, ipads do well at same distance...). This is really very annoying. Anybody else experiencing this ?

2) Browsing is awsome

3) Input of letters very slow

Have I paid $ 800 for nothing ?

AND BY THE WAY: SCREEN SIZE IS SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN FULL A4 - FORGET WHAT YOU READ ABOUT IN INTERNET: A REGULAR A4 SHEET IS SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN THE DPT 1 SCREEN.

THE A4 READER HAS STILL TO COME....

1. No Wifi issues here that I have noticed.

2. Dropbox no Webdav there are third party providers for dropbox webdav. I sync to Box which has webdav then use CloudHQ to sync my box and dropbox anyway.

3. For a note writing / storing device i am finding it really works well in meetings etc.

Its not perfect but I really enjoy using it instead of pen and paper. Its interesting as I find the browsing option the worst function of the device.

i purchase this from office depot: FORAY Pad & Tablet Folio, 9 1/2" x 12 1/4", Black (# 844148).

i just removed the paper pad and placed the reader inside. there's nothing on the device that actually holds the reader secure, but having a thicker cover than the sony supplied sleeve is better than nothing while placed in a bag/back-pack during transport. and i suppose if you have the resources to sew 4 elastic bands to this cover, you can actually create a secure cover.

sadly, version 1.3.50.04030 doesn't add any new features. just stability improvements to existing features.

Hi everyone,

I get an error-Message when I try to install the update (over the air) - after the reboot to update it just states that the update failed. Any ideas?

not sure what happened. but i think you can try again manually by downloading the firmware update file to your computer, connect the reader to your computer, and then running the firmware update file you downloaded.

I've tried two PDF viewers but they both only show the icon for the note but nothing happens when I click it. Perhaps it requires Javascript or something that I have not enabled.

i believe that it's an option to enable these sticky notes from the pdf viewer you are using.

Ugh. No 1.4. I read the Japanese 1.4 firmware page (I can read Japanese) and some of the updates are neat. Such as templates you can download and use for writing notes and even a way to transmit your reader's display on your PC's screen. Useful for presentations and the like. You need to download some special software on your PC for this function. And there are a ton of other useful updates like eraser size changes and more.

has anyone converted novels in whatever format to pdf formatted to use most/all of the dpt-s1's screen size and actually read the novels? what's your experience? i converted a couple of epubs to pdf and am currently reading the first book on this reader. just wanted to find out about others' experiences. do you prefer the large screen or the smaller screen for reading novels?
