This. Command+shift+. is the command to enable/disable viewing hidden folders in Finder.

No, I don't have one available. After further investigation, I *think* it might be a faulty Micro USB port. The Mini now shows up without issue, and the Glo will show up occasionally, but will just vanish off the desktop, only to reappear a few moments later (usually not even long enough to transfer some books). It's quite random. I've found a few mentions of possible weak solder on the Micro USB ports. For now I'll leave it as it is.
