It's possible to make changeable parameter of a swipe-angle? Now many false operations "brightness change" instead of "page up/down"... |

Your suggestion only makes sense if you set the dictionary to appear in two tap zones, one in the upper, one in the lower half of the screen. |

I don't know if it is a bug or intentional, but now I have the full screen update set to by 6 pages, but sometimes the screen will be dirty before that. Then I do a full update. However, the page counter to the full updates won't change to 0. I mean if my screen will have bad quality on the fifth page turning, and I tap a full screen update, the next page turn will be a full update anyway, which is clearly unnecessary, the cycle could be started over. It could be a battery saver.
LucyOne: do you have the dictionary set to "short tap on the bottom of the page", and you wouldn't like if the dictionary popup appeared on the upper part of the screen in the future? Because only this would be the effect. LucyOne "Your suggestion only makes sense if you set the dictionary to appear in two tap zones, one in the upper, one in the lower half of the screen." No, I think you are not right. If I set all short tap regions to dictionary, it would be like double tapping opens the word translation. (Actually, in the CoolReader for Android, you can decide if long-tap, or double tap opens the dictionary. With this solution, both settings can be simulated by this Coolreader fork.) EDIT: and about the page turning by swipe. One should be rather slow and firm and not too short. I couple of times end up in the menu instead of turning a page. I noticed the following weird behaviour since I changed the size of the middle tap zones to 50%: sometimes, not often, a tap in the middle (for page forward) will cause the action that is assigned to the upper right tap zone (toggle system panel). This also happened once when I tapped the lower part of the screen and also the left middle zone. So it can't be just me tapping too high instead of in the middle.
Do you think this might be a bug in Coolreader or could it be a problem with the touchscreen in general? There is an official patch for calibrating the touchscreen under firmware 5.2 or 5.5. I haven't had other problems with the touchscreen, so I have not installed this patch yet. |

Thanks, it worked well in the dev.
Brucelee, LucyOne, there is a situation, when the half of your touch screen is unresponsive. Practically you can't use your reader. I had this issue and I had to sent my reader to have it repaired. They remedied it by this calibration patch. So if you needed it you would definitely know about it. |

Hmmm.. Well, if you installed the dev version could you tell me if CR changed your system theme?
Open the TOC and let me know if it has bigger rows. ![]() |

Hi Brucelee,
on my PB lux3, after the last update of CR, the icons disappear. the theme is set as custom. I tried on my PB2 and it works fine. Is it usable on the PB3 ? Druss67 |

It's made using the default theme file of my Touch Lux 3. And I don't have that issue.
If it's not working fine, install the stable version and change the system theme to "Line". (this dev version will force the "LineCustom" theme) Last edited by brucelee; 09-05-2015 at 10:58 AM. |

Does the value in the standby setting override the PB system? So for example, if I have standby in 5 minutes in the system settings and 10 minutes in the Coolreader settings, when will my device go into standby?
Is it possible to deactivate the screen with the bookcover and the off button that comes up after waking up the device from standby? |

What Coolreader does is Standby. Standby is simply switches off the light and shows the book cover. No battery saving as far as I know. A tap on any part of the screen will interrupt the standby mode. Purpose: to not forget the front light on and there is a quick way to continue the reading. Additionally there is button drawn on the lower part of the bookcover in standby mode. It has no function other than to be able to distinguish if the reader is in Standby mode or turned off with bookcover. So if the system is set to 5 minutes (lock) and the Coolreader standby is 10 minutes, the system will lock the reader after 5 minutes and Coolreader standby cannot happen. The meaningful chain of event (you should set them in this order): standby -> lock -> turnoff, so standby should happen first. (Actually I don't like the lock and turnoff times at all, they are way too short for me, so I set them off, and use only standby.) It is not possible, because 1. standby doesn't deactive the screen 2. the on/off button on the bottom of the screen is just a decoration. Last edited by LittleBiG; 09-05-2015 at 03:33 PM. |
