@DNSB: Ha! Thanks, that means I'll probably be able to test this myself!

Yup, updated and read the docs

Thanks (again) NiLuJe !
Has someone tested this on the new Clara 2E ? Last edited by geoslake; 12-27-2022 at 12:27 PM. |

@geoslake: Yes, expect stability issues (although you might have better luck on that front with Plato's refresh patterns than KOReader's. More data welcome on that point

it seems that windows 11 default blocks powershell script. Run powershell as admin. Then, copy and paste the command below in powershell.
Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope LocalMachine Then, select yes. |

Or right click on the .ps1 script file and check unblock under the General tab. I prefer this to a blanket allow.

Gah, knew I'd forgotten something. Updated the instructions in the second post with this extra step

Nickel Menu: Inserting some basic Menu items.
[QUOTE=NiLuJe;3797096]Alternatively, I've also come up with small scripts to automate the process somewhat, with a few caveats:
Hi! (while this is probably the wrong forum) The only 2 things in my Nickel Menu are Kor Reader and Plato. Is there an easy way to inject some baseline menu items that might be useful for a low maintenance user? I've struggled for about a year. The Nickel instructions with a script in them have not helped "me." Will anyone offer direction to simply expand the number of menu items for at least a novice user as well as how to insert them? If you look at the file named doc that was installed with NickelMenu, it has sample actions and instructions though with the usual issue that since the author wrote the instructions, they tend to make assumptions about what the end user knows. I've attached a sample of my NM configuration file to this message and included it and the doc file in a zip file attached to this message. One item to remember is that these files are plain text. Basically, any line that starts with a # is a comment. Menu_item is the start of a menu item, the main/library/reader/whatever is what location this menu item will be available from with the rest of the line being what the menu item does. Some of the menu items will take more than one action hence the chain_ items. As mentioned, the doc file includes the needed information. Good luck! Quote:

Issues on Kobo Elipsa
Hi, I installed the package (OCP-Plato-0.9.34_KOReader-v2022.11) using the automatic script onto my Kobo Elipsa.
Unfortunately, I get very weird behaviour, like constant flashing of the e-ink screen that can be repaired only by restart of the Kobo. Does anybody else experience it? |

I used the new Windows install.ps1 script and the stupid kobo database STILL found "Arrow-down" in the install of the script it said that it was adding the proper folder to ignore but it didn't. Is there a quick way to fix this? Or do I have to start all over again?
The script says "# Prevent Nickel from scanning hidden *nix directories (FW 4.17+) Write-Host("* Preventing Nickel from scanning hidden directories . . .") $KOBO_CONF=$KOBO_DIR + "\Kobo" + "\Kobo eReader.conf" @'" But that's not working? "[FeatureSettings] ExcludeSyncFolders=(\\.(?!kobo|adobe).+|([^.][^/]*/)+\\..+)" Is in my Kobo eReader.conf file already. But it's still finding those files... what is going on?
