Kartu, I can copy files from the SD card to the 505's memory with and without rescan. But there's no option to directly open the file. I did put all files you mentioned in your guide on the 505 as downloaded. Is there an option I forgot to change?
By the way, thanks for your great support. |

It's most likely that that's doable but a bit complicated, since the original code treats media content as something that could change only when you connect to USB / disconnect, or remove/insert external card. Even the "delete" option from Sony/Kinoma doesn't do it 100% correctly, still leaving reference to the deleted book here and there. Last edited by kartu; 12-20-2009 at 04:30 AM. |

Kartu, I just checked and I cannot find the .noscan file. Attached see the screenshot of my SD-Card.
I also just took pictures of the menu (at least the new entries compared to ofw). Even after converting them to jpg, it's about 16MB. I thought about putting a pdf with the menu structure and maybe some explanation together. It could get some kind of documentation on how to install and how to use. What do you think about it? Is there a way I can upload the pictures here? Let me know how you want the pics. |

I don't see the attachment. If you have google account, I can add you to the project commiters list, and you could then upload pictures to wiki repository and edit pages directly online. |

Kartu, I just created a google account. I'll pm you my new e-mail address.
For the attachment, it seems I forgot to add it, actually ;-) Sorry for that. But here it comes. Ok, it doesn't. The forum is asking for a url. The image is on my harddrive. Once I pmed you mail address, I can send the picture to you. Once I can post on the project site, I'll put the pictures I made today. I cannot promise I'll get to post there right away, but at least I will do so around christmas. |

Added you to commiters list. Are you familiar with mercurial? (version control system) You'll need it to upload the files. (http://tortoisehg.bitbucket.org/ comes with GUI to do it)
This is the url of wiki repository: https://wiki.prs-plus.googlecode.com/hg/ If you don't mind using command line, create folder where you want to store it anywhere, 1) press windows button + R 2) execute: cmd 3) cd to the appropriate folder 4) execute: hg clone https://wiki.prs-plus.googlecode.com/hg/ . this will get you a copy of the wiki repository 5) edit hgrc file in .hg folder (it will be created by mercurial) and replace: default = https://prs-plus.googlecode.com/hg/ with default = https://<your username>:<project password>@prs-plus.googlecode.com/hg/ (you can find the password here https://code.google.com/hosting/settings ) 6) add /edit whatever files you want 7) execute: hg add it will start tracking new files 8) execute: hg commit -m "short description of what you've done" it will "commit" the change localy 9) execute: hg push it will push the stuff to the global repository It's much easier than it sounds. The same should be doable via GUI, but I don't know, how it works... ![]() |

I have the .noscan file present on SD card (in the root folder) and listed the options "copy to internal memory" and "copy & rescan internal memory" , but do not work.
Can you confirm that these options work? Your ebooks can be copied onto the internal memory from the SD card? |

Downloaded the file and the filebrowser now works like I expected. I don't have the copy options anymore though. Well, in my case, to open books from the filebrowser is more important. I run all my files from SD-card anyways.
Ok, got the pictures, have your information about the project page, so I will probably start putting the first things together on Wednesday if my family permits (well, it's kind of the day before christmas and everyone's home). I'll put some kind of a map for the menus together and will finalize once the rc is up. |

Mike,
at the moment there is either option to open the book or option to copy it (in case scanning is disabled) but not both. So it's a limitation, not a bug. ![]() |

Ok, allready thought so. Like stated before, I prefer the open file option anyways. I've checked the project-homepage and will get busy to find out how it operates tomorrow :-)
For all you guys did so far, I feel glad I probably can contribute a little part, too. |

Hi kartu,
I took the plunge today and installed your enhanced firmware, and so far it's working great. I missed the custom index hack I was using before though, so I tried to modify your clock-script. However I can't get it to show up in the settings menu (or work at all, for that matter). As far as I understand your code all .js-files from the Addons-folder get called automatically, so I don't specifically need to call my js-file for it to take an effect. I don't think there are any syntax errors, so I'm totally at a loss here. I tried to output some debug strings to the log-file, but that didn't work either, although I changed the setting in PRSPlus-user.config to trace level. Could you please take a look at the file? Thank you very much for your work, I really appreciate it. Duglum |

You have a non critical error here:
valueTitles: { XofY: "5 of 100", XofYper: "5 of 100 (5%)", XdivYper: "5 / 100", XdivYper: "5 / 100 (5%)" } 2 times XdivYper, the first should be XdivY I guess. Other than that, it works perfectly for me, but I use the lates development version, could be that I've fixed some unknown bug meanwhile. If you don't mind, I'd: 1) Rename addon to "Page Index" 2) Use this header: // Name: Page Index // Description: Shows the book index in different formats // Author: Duglum // 3) And commit code to PRS+ project repository. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Regarding logging, it MUST work. Did you forget to rename file to .config ? Here is my PRSPlus-user.config: var config = Utils.config; config.addonRoot = "b:/VCS/code/PRSPlus-addons/"; config.defaultLogLevel = "trace"; config.logFile = "b:/PRSPlus.log"; PS Hooking into menu is not needed, since you only display something in book mode. The same for updating, ebook does never start up in book mode. This will generate some errors in log when browsing menu, but doesn't affect user experience in any way.
