I just followed the same steps but the dictionary file doesn't appear in dictionary menu. where should be appear user.config once introduce sd (with beta tester) in the reader (in x:\database\system\PRSPlus\)? because the only folder and file are prsplus.js, dictionary (folder) and epub (folder)

I put the SD on the reader, no? But, with what firmware installed, original 18040, PRS+1.02 or PRS+1.1beta?

I will see the changes made to the catalan.sj file just putting the SD into the reader?

user.config MUST be into the root folder of SD card.
You can change location of dictionary folder in user.config but this folder MUST be into internal memory.

It doesn't matter. PRS+ Installer is not needed for beta

1) You must install 1.1.0beta. After that's done, you can delete PRSPInstaller folder.
2) You extract http://prs-plus.googlecode.com/files...rs_pack_v2.zip to your SD card (it should look like on Victor's screenshots)

Then, just edit files in /beta/core/lang/

Screenshots are fine. You should be able to choose dictionary via:
Settings -> PRS+ Settings -> Dictionary

After installation of PRS+1.1beta you can delete installer from SD. It isn't required any more.

Then just copy:
- beta (folder)
- user.config
from PRSP_505_1.1.0beta_BetaTesters_pack_v2.zip
to root of SD card.

Put SD into reader and restart or connect and disconnect by USB.
You can change /beta/core/lang/catalan.js on SD (encoding UTF-8).

Kartu, thanks for the wonderful additions, they made it possible to actually use SD card among the other great features!

If I may make a feature request: Bookmarking folders!

Problem: 505's inability to handle non-latin characters is making the default autor or title views simply useless - every book is put in the "Other" pile, searching for one is the simple "press 40 times next page"

Even worse, my try to put some non-latin directory structure on the SD card resulted in either nothing or very small bits of books to pop here and there.

Solution: I disabled SD card indexing, mounted the card and browsed it directly from your scripts. Even better, I organized the folders to allow "indexed" searching:
-[author first letter]
---[sequence]
------[book file]

Now I'm about to duplicate the books and create another folder sorted like:
-[book first letter]
---[book file]

And that should cover up most of the lost device functionality. However, it also results in quite a few clicks to get to anything, so to minimize these can I ask you for...

- Implement such indexing by author/title using filenames only? Nah, scratch that, too hard to do

- Ability to press the bookmark on some folders and these to show up (best) on main menu or (still great) direct inside the "Browse Folders"

Will love to hear what you think about the idea

What's the really function of mount sd/ms and the difference with scan sd/ms?

Thanks now it works well. The files did not work to edit with Notepad.

A mysterious error catalan.js file. The title of the slideshow is not visible and can not find the error. Can you check the file?

Your files are OK.

Little experiment: Rename "beta" folder on SD card into, let's say... "beta1", and disconnect reader from PC. If after that original sony firmware will be started - it means user.config have been read by PRSPlus.js.
Restore functionality by rename "beta1" to "beta" back.

Current localization solution took so long because I spent a lot of time to efficiently enable this feature (that's how prsp.xsb was born, giving access to a very cool stuff

<language>.js files can define their own sorting alphabet (at the moment only Georgian & Russian versions are using this feature afaik).

I see what you mean, a kind of "Favourite Folders". It will be added to PRS+ together with "File Manager".

Other way I was pondering about, was supporting windows shortcuts. It's not such a big deal to add this feature (comes down to parsing unofficially documented shortcut format), and when coupled with, say, a batch script that would parse books and automatically create such shortcuts (I guess Calibre could get this feature), this would be very handy.

I haven't done yet your recomendations, but i have a question, when introduce the sd card with beta tester, the reader should be restart or only should appear the arrows like when to introduce a sd card with new books?

Is there any way to reset the history in continue reading book?
