Now my reader appears to have only the PRS Customizer installed, there are no PRS+ options in the menu. However, when I try to reinstall PRS+, it says it is already installed and will not let me proceed.

You can force install via expert menu. (you need Fsk (/opt))
You'll lose PRSCustomizer stuff, however.

Hm, theoretically this should only modify main.xml and icons which shouldn't affect PRS+ that much (besides minor status bar glitches)

Thanks Victor. I am almost finished with localization. Only books by date/title / About / "USB connected" stuff (I still ponder whether to localize this part) are remaining.

Updated Order

1. Install PRS+
2. Use Igorsk's Universal Flasher (I used a empty SD card).
3. You must verify that the folder files.505.1.1.00.18040 and the its subfolders (in SD Flasher) are empty. Delete ALL files.
4. Place the kBookAssets.png file in the files.505.1.1.00.18040\opt\sony\ebook\application\ resources\scripts\ directory on the SD card.
5. Start Igorsk's Universal Flasher make a new image (press 5).
6. Then Flash the image (press 6).

That should do it, remove SD card, and allow it to reboot.

delete it, if prs+ is working,
because all it does is injecting the prs+ startcode and so you shouldn't replace it.

Otherwise make sure it read like this near the end of the file

Seeing some battery talk if a few other threads got me to thinking... I know to help optimize the battery it's best to occasionally run the battery all the way down and then charge it up. What if someone could create a script (for the utility section) that would turn the page back and fourth every few seconds, to run the battery down to zero. I think that might be a good thing to do every 3 or 6 months to help with battery life.

Just an idea to throw out.

Sorry but here comes the myth again... for NiCd batteries a great idea (and a very old one now)... these (and most modern devices) use LiOn batteries and don't require the full discharge cycle every so often. This procedure can actually shorten their lifespan... it's also recommended that if not being used for lengthy periods then best practice is to leave at half charge before switching off...

Kartu, I found another bug.

When I have the center joypad button set to shutdown on hold, the center joypad button no longer works as enter when just pressed. Can this please be fixed? Thanks.

Nope.

Can I just put the new .js files over the old ones or do I need to flash again?

PRS+ Installer will flash only if your current firmware is outdated.
Copying scirpts over might or might not work, depending on your version.
