Question: I enabled include_tocpage: true.

I tried running update-always on several fics from different sites (update metadata/update cover/background metadata), but the TOC page didn't appear. Then I tried running overwrite-always, and the TOC page didn't appear. (I didn't try downloading a new fic though.)

Is there anything else I need to do to make it work?

defaults.ini has [epub] include_tocpage: false (because epub has a metadata TOC).

Put your include_tocpage: true under [epub] to override it.

A new question. I'm a little stumped on a regex here:

I have a fic categoried as "Mass Effect (Comics)" The first line should strip out the (Comics). Then "^Mass.Effect$" should replace with Mass Effect Trilogy. Instead, I end up with "Crossover, Mass Effect, Mass Effect Trilogy."

I thought it might've been a whitespace messing it up, so I tried this line:

I suspect that your double pipe '||' is an empty pattern that's matching the space between letters. Which I didn't even know was a thing, so good job.

If you look closely, you'll see 'Mass Effect Trilogy' spelled out between 'Mass Effect Trilogy'. You have created meta-metadata:

I see the double-pipe now. I removed it and it worked properly.

I've mostly got the metadata set up the way I like now but occasionally I run into new categories.

Is it just me or to you also get two URLs from each mail from AO3?

for example:
With fanfiction.net I have 3 unread mails and get 3 story URLS.
With AO3 I have 2 unread mails and get 4 story URLs.

(Maybe because in the AO3 mail there is the story URL and also the URL for the new chapter?)

Every url from AO3 is double and for these I get the message "skipped - same story already included."

Does FFF call up every url or only those with status "add" or "update"?
I don´t want to generate unnecessary traffic to the sites.

I only have one AO3 notice email that hasn't been deleted yet and it doesn't do that. I do recall that it is a thing that happens, or used to happen, though. It might be author subscription vs work subscription. I'd need to see the emails to know for sure.

But URLs marked "Skipped - Same story already included" have been recognized as duplicates and do not generate network traffic.

I have some AO3 subscription emails saved for my own written fics.

The "[author] posted [fic]" ones have just the work link. The "[author] posted Chapter X of [fic]" have links to both the whole work and the new chapter.

I only got 1 from an "[author] posted Chapter X of [fic]" notice.

I probably wasn't clear that I don't consider this enough of an issue to do anything about. Due to previous requests by other users, FFF keeps the longer story URLs to show you if don't 'download from email immediately'. I don't remember why they wanted them.
