Nothing in the code that sets that has changed.

There is a setting in the FFF config, on the Standard Columns tab where you may have set it to not update that column.

It's also possible that the specific site you read changed their date formats and aren't scraping now. Please provide a story URL that exhibits the problem for you.

It happens for every site I use, several different ones. I know the downloads are completing successfully; I can look up which ones finished in the log, and view the epubs, which are correct (and set the "Packaged" date in the preface text to today). For what it's worth one example is https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13026532/1/

If I go to Standard Columns, none of the New Only checkboxes are selected.

I don't know what else to tell you. The code hasn't changed and it's working fine for me. There's an off-chance of code corruption on your system, which you could try to address by re-installing FFF and maybe Calibre.

After that we're left with, "Are you sure you're looking at the correct column?"

I've just done a full uninstall/reinstall of Calibre and FanFicFare. Unfortunately, I can't really test this until a few days pass and some stories update, so I'll see if it works then.

Hi JimmXinu.

Some stories from AO3 are restricted and can't be read without a login.

Would it be possible to add a tag or something similar in Calibre to be able to spot those stories?

Thanks

- Add feature to automatically add optional tags for stories downloaded from email URLs.

Look on the Email tab in FFF config..

Working like a charm, man.

Tooltip: Useful for marking stories you have email alerts for apart from ones downloaded on a whim.
Eh, maybe? Not sure it's better...

Are you asking for a new metadata entry that indicates a 'restricted' story?

Because I assume you already know about the username/password and always_login settings.

Yes, something to add either to tags or a whole new column?

- Add 'Restricted to Registered Users'(restricted) metadata to AO3.

restricted value will be 'Restricted' or empty.

You'll need to add restricted to include_subject_tags, extra_titlepage_entries, where ever you want it to appear.

Could I request that support for https://fimfetch.net be added.

It is a backup for https://www.fimfiction.net. And it has many stories that are no longer available that I would like to download.

@AndersW - I, personally, don't add many new sites these days--basically only when I want to read something.

However, I do accept code contributions (preferably as github pull requests) from other people to add new sites.

FYI, I have looked into this some more.

While it's possible to run Python code in browser a variety of ways, I don't think that it's feasible right now to get FFF running there with the existing code.

I tried pyodide, which basically runs a full Python interpreter in JS. It looked promising in desktop browser, but it was too heavy for mobile devices; IE, it wouldn't work at all on my phone and tablet.

Then I went to the opposite end of the spectrum, Transcrypt, a Python->Javascript "transpiler", but found that it's limitations prevented even the most basic dependency modules from compiling, let alone FFF.

Most of the other py->js projects I looked were dormant, 'alpha', targeted an outdated version of Python, etc.

Most also seem to be aimed at letting developers write web apps in Python using JS libraries, not trying to port existing Python code to run in browser. Python's tendency to encourage 3rd party dependency libraries only makes it worse.

To be honest, I feel like most people who would stand to benefit would be using a desktop browser anyway. It's a fool's errand to try any sort of serious computing on a mobile device, and even with the limitation to desktop devices, I think it would make a lot of people happy
