The Oberons are beautiful, but I'm wondering if the stiffness of the leather (which is awesome for making it sturdy) would allow me to read with the cover folded back?

PS: this is the one I'm lusting for
I'll give you my opinion on folding back the Oberon cover. I do have an Oberon cover but frankly, I rarely use it. I do feel like it's a little heavy, no way as heavy as a hardback book, but it is thick leather and a little heavy. The main reason I don't use the Oberon all the time is that it does not fold back flat. It does fold back, but it won't be flat when it's folded. For some reason that bothers me and keeps me from using it much.

But I'm a loyal Noreve cover owner, it's my favorite. I own 6 covers for my Kindle, but I use the Noreve almost all the time. It's sleek, and it folds back completely flat, it has a rail system so no corners or elastic pieces are showing on the front of my Kindle.

Thanks for the input!! I'm happy with my current m-edge cover, but those oberons are just sooo gorgeous. I like the idea of the rails on the noreve though. hmmm.....something to think about

I have two Kindles that I use an Oberon cover for. Both fold back fine and feel like they are flat to me. They are heavier then other covers but that does not bother me. My Mom thinks that my Oberon cover on my DX is too heavy.

Imagining a DX-sized Oberon cover, I have to agree with her.

I love it. It feels great and just the right weight.

My Oberon has folded back flat since day one. It's the black wild rose. It's on my Kindle 3. The DX is another story. I have a green one with the creek and it's heavy and didn't fold flat for a long time. Had to work on that. Now I hardly use the DX, since the K3 font is darker.

That Wild Rose in Black is absolutely beautiful!! I tried to buy one of those used on Kindleboards but someone beat me to it. I usually don't care for plain black in a cover for anything, but that one is so pretty, I'm jealous!

Finally ordered a cover for my KSO (been using a slip case) - standard Amazon leather cover. Took advantage of a price drop and two KSO offers to get it down to $11.50

So, I now have a new Kindle Keyboard and I'm trying to decide on a case. While I liked holding the K1 naked, the K3 is just too thin. (I did keep the K1 in a case when travelling, etc.)

While I think the Oberon cases are gorgeous...I have a problem paying $70 + shipping. I don't know if I can make myself do it.

The other leading contenders are the standard Amazon non-lighted case...currently $30 or an M-Edge cover or two (since they currently have a sale going...2 kindle 3 covers for $30).

I know many people use them with no problem but I'm still not sure I like the hinge system on the Amazon cases.

Who has the M-Edge Go! or Executive cases and how do you like them?

And if I do splurge for the Oberon...do we like the inside wool lining for the front?

I love my Oberons and am fine with the wool pad. I rarely touch it when I am holding it and I like to think that it gives me some extra protection for my Kindles. There are people who do not like it (allergies, pet hair, just don't like the feel) and so have asked Oberon to remove the pad.

I've got a Bundle Monster genuine leather cover. It works good. Looks like $22US. I like it. The metal snap can be bothersome as the connector for it is pretty stiff and bends back.
