It is not lined. It looks to be finished leather on the inside. At least, it is a smooth, shiny black.

Someone give me latch guidance. Latching on back, latching on front (left vs right) or no latch.

For a specifc brand or in general?
Most covers seem to have the closure on the right side of the device. Obern's sleeves have a magnetic latch on top with the pewter button on the back of the sleeve so that there is no chance of harming the Kindle screen when the device is removed from the sleeve. |

So, my preference is a magnetic snap closure that snaps on the front, but I have covers with the elastic band, and have one with a magnetic snap closure that snaps on the back. ETA: I just realized you might be talking about sleeves instead of book style cases. Sorry! Last edited by PG4003; 04-22-2011 at 02:27 PM. |

No you are correct PG. I am talking about book style covers. Sorry. I am also talking about just what you said.. latching on the back vs the front of the right side.
Does the latching part get in the way of hte page turn buttons? |

I'm seriously considering one of the M-Edge design-your-own covers. The more I lookey, the more I likey. The only problem is that every time I go to the site I come up with about 20 different design ideas. First I was thinking of some of my best photos, then I thought "word art!" then I thought abstract... ugh, it would be a days-long project. But oh, so worth it.
Naturally, I'll have to get the light to go with it. ![]() |

That cover does look attractive. I like the personalization options but I don't think I would ever settle on anything.

Out of Print Clothing is now offering some of the classic book covers they use on their clothing as M-Edge covers. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone's interested...

heheh The 1984 cover strikes me as properly ironic for a Kindle Kover.

I ordered the m-edge custom cover yesterday. I went with something simple, a quote on the front and another + "return to" info on the back. It'll be a while before it gets here - I chose the free shipping option, so up to two weeks before it ships and another 3-7 days before it gets here. I forgot to take a screen shot so I have nothing to show till it gets here.
I also got the light. |

I decided against a hard cover that you open like a book. The biggest thing I love about the kindle (even though I don't have it yet) is that it will be light and compact. No more big bulky books... So my kindle will be naked. However I did want to place it in something while I was not using it or travelling... So because I am frugal as can be I decided to make my own. It's crochet and has two cats on the front and two at the back. I used a cut out cardboard (with correct measurements) model of the kindle, pictured below. I will place light plastic or maybe cardboard inserts and then line it with pink felt once my kindle finally arrives.
Here it is: Sleepless in Ontario (until I get my kindle) Sylvie |
