ugh, i feel so guilty! i want to buy another cover, specifically this one: http://www.amazon.com/Yorker-Kindle-...0850343&sr=1-1
the fact that it comes with a dust jacket (and thus relieving my fears of canvas getting easily dirtied) is just tempting me even more! of course the fact that i already bought the lighted cover is glaring me in the face (i wanted a convenient light). hmm...anyone here who has more than one cover? how do you justify it to that part of your mind which is rational? ![]() |

![]() and i didn't know that m-edge lets you design your own cover! *goes to their site* oh, and does anyone know when the le sportsac covers will be available again? another question: i was reading the details for the kate spade canvas covers, and it says that they are made out of coated canvas. what does that mean? does it mean it won't get dirty like ordinary canvas fabric? I've been lurking for about 2 months, since I got my Kindle, just now getting comfy enough with it to give feedback.
I got the Otterbox Commuter Series "case," and basically can ditto everything that the individual said a few pages ago about pros and cons. I really liked the feel of the cover, and I felt like the body was protected just fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't protect the most vulnerable (now I know) part of the device; the screen. I went ahead and used the silly screen protector it came with, which surely helped avoid scratches, however, I don't think it provided nearly enough bang-around protection. I'm a full-time student and that is what I bought the Kindle for, so unless it is in my hand, its usually in my backpack, which contains bulky, heavy things that can press on the Kindle at weird angles for extended periods of time. I'm fairly certain this is why my screen malfunctioned last week. I received a prompt replacement from Amazon, because the customer service lady said it sounded like a device malfunction, not abuse, but I am skeptical of the complete blame being put on the device. Sooo, I'm sending the Otterbox back after a call to their customer service. I'll have to save a bit more money, but I'll probably get an Oberon cover... I'm a Renaissance Faire geek and looooove his designs. They remind me of Bald Mountain, a now defunct store that made lovely products in the same vein. |

I got a Gecko cover (http://www.geckocovers.com/) after a recommendation on here a few weeks ago, and it's great - feels nice, doesn't get in the way, doesn't get clogged up with dust. Highly recommended.

A good point to bear in mind for future models, though - perhaps a felt flower or some such would be an effective but harmless fastening! |

Makes sense to me - I have a Tuff-Luv crystal case so I can show off the fab DecalGirl skin I bought for my Kindle 3, and I keep the reader in my own custom jiffy-bag-type 'Kindle Cardi'. Currently my only problem is that it's slightly too big to fit into my favourite handbag!

About that Tuff-Luv case, does it cover the screen as well? I'm looking for some kind of kid-resistant armor.

I have bought a case that provides great functionality and feels good.
DURAGADGET Black Genuine Finest Nappa Leather Book Style Case/Cover For New 2010 Amazon Kindle 3 + CAR CHARGER £9.99 incl postage in UK. Amazon marketplace, received within 3 days. It isnt heavy, and is a very good fit for the kindle 3. I prefer to read without it when at home but can slip it into the case when I want to carry it in a bag with books etc. I would have loved to get an Oberon cover but the cost of custom duty (usually £25 on items of this value) makes this far too costly. The car charger doesnt fit the kindle, its for micro-usb. |

You can buy a neoprene sleeve for a 7' Netbook on Ebay for 99 cents (shipped) if you look around. It fits a little bit loose for the Kindle 3g, but if you hand wash it in warm water and dry it in the dryer (or with a blow dryer) it should shrink nicely. Neoprene is notorious for shrinkage when heated.
I'm going to dry mine when I get home. I'll post some pics soon. |

In a wet suit, that would be catastrophic, but for a Kindle sleeve it might not matter at all. |
