The K4 design looks more like the Sony x50 readers, but not as deeply recessed--maybe half as recessed. The beveled edge of the bezel around the screen is dark black which is good IMO.
I know ... :-( ... I have that problem with Lola. I have to keep it on the sleeve.

Thanks for answer all the questions ! Good job.

Question from me, can you still press "down" on the page turn buttons , from the picture it looks like you have to push "sideways"

I hold my K3 with the forward button under the ball of my thumb and can easily turn the forward page, in the case of going backwards I just use the the tip of my thumb ( does that make any sense ?? )

Thanks in advanced.

Ok sorry for getting my device and then disappearing but it was bad timing. Wife and kids walked into the house 15 min after it arrived so I didn't have lots of time to play around. I loaded up books and then jumped into the car to take my daughter to her swimming lessons.

Ok first impressions:

Size is amazing for me. Ive actually had to readjust how I hold this Kindle. I have no cover so it's tiny in my hands.

The buttons feel nice to press. Not cheap, and I don't hear any clicking noise but then I'm also not in a quiet environment right now.

The speed is snappy. Navigating between pages and menus is significantly faster then the K3. I noticed it right away.

I'm already used to the keyboard and entering one letter at a time. Like I said its FAST response so moving from letter to letter is a breeze. Maybe experience in entering text through joysticks on game consoles pays off here. For the amount of typing I do, I have no complaints.

Page turns are nice. I really like the non-flash on each page, makes the page turn faster. The screen is surprisingly not ghosted very badly at all without the full refresh. I have tight line spacing and made the margins smaller so maybe with a screen full of text the partial refresh works well since it updates all over the screen.

That's it for now! I'll post some side by side pics with my kindle 3 tomorrow.

Thank you for the info;

That is actually the model I'm interested in (with buttons and no touch screen)

Is it Grey plastic or painted?

That line sounds really weird. Because "papi" means sweet heart in Spanish, or sweetie ... when I read it was like "I'm not sure sweetie" ....

"Papi", that's a very original nickname. Kind of weird that was available too.
Ok. The only reason I add some clarification in here is 'cause I don't want someone getting into an embarrassing situation. Papi is a young child's way of saying "daddy." It's slang use is as a term of endearment used by a woman for a man or a somewhat effete way of a gay man to refer to another gay man. Use accordingly.

I have just packed mine to be shipped back to Amazon. Perhaps I received a bad model because the page turns were slow. My K3 is faster. My Nook STR screams. I downloaded the update and could see no difference between turning the refresh on for every page or off. I could have opted for a replacement but I have enough eReaders as it is.

So now that people have the K4 in their hands, can anyone tell if folders are supported?

Kindle uses what is called Collections. It does not use a folder structure. You can put your book into subfolders though and they will show up on the Kindle but you will need to add them still to collections to organize them.

Actually, both ways, but you're correct.

Although, in PR and other countries, papi is more used as a word for sweetie. And I did not add any gay meaning by the way, just said was weird, or it was to me when I read it.

Now, I'm from South America, not PR (lived there 10 years though) , so I know what you mean. I used to call my father, "papi". Again, no offense, it just sounded weird when I read it, giving the case my 1st is Spanish.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

Are there any upgrades to the PDF support? Does panning seem faster or anything like that?

You push down on them like the K3. They are smaller and actually not as easy to accidentally depress as they are on the K3. I usually have my thumb near the buttons and often turn the page way before I mean to with the K3, not so much with the K4.

I honestly can't tell whether it is paint. I would guess paint.

LOL! I didn't know that so let us substitute Papi for @Papi.

I rarely read PDFs on eInk readers so i'm not the one to ask since i'm not familiar with the K3s PDF viewing abilities. That is one of the rare times that my iPad is better for reading than my Kindle.
