Since the last two-three nightlies my Tesseract Dictionary (which worked quite normally up to that point) started to show definitions of irrelevant words - that is the popup shows words totally different from the highlighted ones. It does not matter which pdf I use. I don't know if it affects only me so can anybody confirm? Does it work OK for others?

Hey guys. Is it a problem to implement in next release option to choose either mobi or either epub files. It's very confusing when, for example, we've got mix of dozens epub, mobi and pdf files on Kindle..

The problem often enough isn't whether something can be implemented. Rather, it's how much time developers can dedicate to their hobbies...

That said, it would certainly be possible to restrict the display to a certain file type. But I'm not sure if I really understand your problem. I mean, you're the one putting a mix of files in one and the same folder on your Kindle and then having problems to tell them apart? Why don't you just create folders for what you deem worth separating?

MaxStirner: There were some irks with the latest versions since a rework of word recognition. I thought they were fixed? Not sure, though. I will need to have a look. If you have an account at Github, better report the problem there. I guess this is it: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/issues/352 - not yet fixed since chrox couldn't reproduce, unfortunately

PW2?

Hi,

Any reports on KOReader & PW2?

I have just installed the new JB (kudos!), the latest KPVBooklet that should have PW2 support, but the two lastest KOReader nightlies chrash on opening - i.e. any PDF files I click on go to white screen, and then back to home screen.

Am I being stupid or do I just need to wait for a PW2 compatible release of KOReader?

Thanks!

[EDIT]
I've just installed KUAL and it won't open KOReader either, not even the filemanager, or filemanager (noframework), although the noframework options do restart the framework.

Is a "crash.log" generated in the koreader folder? If so, what does it say?

Ah, yep, knew that weird model detection method was gonna bite someone in the ass one day ;p.

I'll see if I can come up with something decent in Lua, even if I hate^W suck at that language, but the idea is to parse /proc/usid on the Kindle (like KUAL/CR/CollMan does). So, yeah, while we have (at least) an Awk, C++, Python & shell implementation of this, no lua yet ;D.

Thanks, that was fast! Now it does start, but that's actually all it does. When I open a PDF via KPVBooklet, it opens the first page and than the only thing it reacts to is a screensaver or a reset. When I start the filemanager through KUAL, it starts the filemanager, but it's the kindle framework under it that responds to touches. When I start the filemanager through KULA (no framework) I end up with the filemanager (first page) and nothing but the screensaver or reset reacting. No crash.log, since it does not actually crash.

Might or might not be related to what CrazyCoder experienced with CR, but that's a wild guess, the UI/HID stuff really isn't my area of expertise.

The workaround for Crazy was to add FULLSCREEN (and remove it again) to background_(something) layer via wmctl.

A very tidy solution might I add.
