Where has the X gone!
Earlier there used to be an 'X' in the top right corner of the File Manager to exit to KUAL menu. This is missing for the last few nightlies. The only way to quit to KUAL now is to tap in the upper left corner of the File Manager and use the home icon. Rather roundabout way than using the X in the top right corner of the File Manager. Is this how it will be in the future too?

I installed KUAL and Koreader yesterday, and now I can read on my PW again! The stock reader was not retaining my formatting. With Koreader, I added my favorite font, and loaded folders full of epubs, and the formatting is almost perfect. (Just one little thing is off--no page break at chapter split). So I am very thankful to the developers.
Do I need to update it from time to time, or should it run fine the way it is forever? I used the most recent file. (Back door is locked) |

...in most cases, that is. We add some bugs now and then to keep the entertainment level high :-P No, really: If it works - fine! If you have time to try a new version - make a backup of the koreader folder and try the new version. Going back and forth is basically just copying the koreader folder.

It's a very nice application. I have to see if there is another font size control I can add. I may have to try Koreader on my Kobo. The Kobo has a much more even light than my paperwhite. I will keep an eye out for improvements to the program!

Qwentor: Some nightlies are simply broken. It doesn't matter what firmware or jailbreak you use.
Aj74: I guess so. The KPW2 does not seem different. Except I really have no idea whether it can be jailbroken (i.e. whether you can use older KPW firmware for downgrading). I have my doubts there, since Amazon didn't ever make independent developers' work easier. |

I found the koreader-kindle-arm-none-linux-gnueabi-v2013.03-504-g649fc00.zip (koreader-nightly-20130913) version to be the most usable and not crashing one on kindle PW 5.3.4. The latest one crashes instead

I updated my earlier version with koreader-nightly-20131001.. with the "no framework" options..
while quitting, a restart is triggered if opened with "no framwork".. quitting works ok if opened normally.. |

Also.. after zooming (zoom to fit content width, etc..), a few lines appear less dark..
