@kyteflyer I'm working full-blast on the iPhone version.
@MeSue I like the idea. What gesture do you suggest? |

@anesthezea You will need your own webserver, it generates a webpage and a web feed. I basically use the webfeed for it is opdf compatible and works great with Marvin. If you want to know how many books are in a folder then i would suggest the webpage, which gives this information. Marvin doesn't support this. Both can be accessed from the Cloud icon.

For COPS you would need your own webserver.
A webserver like Apache can easily be installed on almost any Windows PC, Mac or Linux PC or any device, like a NAS, that usually runs on a kind of Linux. But, if you have all your e-books in Calibre you can also use the OPDS content server of Calibre. Just enable it in Calibre (see Attached Thumbnail) and connect to it in Marvin. in Marvin use: Code:
http://<IP_of_Calibre_PC>:8080/opds As I run my own small low powered home-server I prefer to use COPS over starting up Calibre on my Desktop PC (Mac mini actually) every time I want to browse through my e-book collection. With COPS its always available. ![]() |

I run a home server with Windows Home Server. I run Calibre server and have it exposed to the Internet through the homeserver.com domain provided with Windows Home Server (it's password protected). What advantages does COPS provide over the standard Calibre server?

A subsequent movement up to 100%...then continuing up will disengage the extra dimming. There should be a suitable pause - or length of slide - before it is engaged/disengaged... |

I run cops on three different environments, one at home on a server, the second on a NAS and one on a tonidoplug - is a little device with its own wifi router and storage - for when i am on holiday. All run exactly the same install of cops, and have just one file differ per environment. Calibre is great for content management, Cops is great for distribution and Marvin is the best for reading and connect good to opds. |

I've tried that, and in most cases it works fine. The only instance where it doesn't work for me is that sometimes I like to enable extra dimming but want to dial in just a bit of hardware brightness with a swipe. This can't be done using the gesture. I'll experiment some more.

eg. Initially extra dimming is disengaged - you have the full range (0-100%) of hardware dimming control - as it is now. You slide down - past 0% - to engage extra dimming. Code:
| 100% | | | extra dimming disengaged from 100-0% | | | 0% | | extra dimming engaged v Code:
^ |

Interesting... Didn't think about it that way. I'll try it out.
