It sounds like you either changed your gmail account password to the generated, or used it to log in someplace other than FFF. Generate a new 'app password' for FFF and only use it there.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one this is happening to, but after trying with the last (normal) version of FFF, I just downloaded and installed the active text version and I'm still getting the same issue. Fanfiction.net stories aren't downloading. I can load the pages in a browser with no problem, but FanFicFare seems to be having a problem.

I know I read that when the cloudflare issue first popped up, but I don't see how it applies here. I was able to download from FFN fine even just 8ish hours ago.

Then you are the only one I know of who hasn't been having this problem for the last year.

Huh... I had to do the browser cache thing, but since I did I've never had a problem. I guess I'll try to do the proxy thing too and see if that helps. Thanks.

You didn't mention using the browser cache feature before.

If you are using the browser cache feature correctly, the pages will be pulled from the browser cache. Getting 403 errors, it is either not setup correctly, not used correctly or (more rarely) a problem with reading your browser cache.

I'd review https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFa...erCacheFeature and try setting use_browser_cache_only:true. It may also help to clear the browser cache--sometimes it's necessary to actually delete the cache dir contents manually. But I'd make a backup first.

Actually, I don't think I did anything, but I just tried again while downloading the flaresolverr thing and they all downloaded fine.

As for having FFF read the browser cache, I thought you HAD to do that change to download from FFN anymore, so I've had that in personal.ini since you first implemented it. I don't have the use_browser_cache_only:true setting, so if it happens again I'll try adding that before I try the proxy thing.

In any case, thanks for getting back to me so quickly even if it didn't end up being necessary at the moment. I really do LOVE FFF and I'm incredibly grateful for all the hard work you put into it.

As you all know a lot of what is talked about here is over my head. But this morning I'm trying to update stories from ffn. I'm getting this error:

I've used the same method for months. In fact, I updated stories last night. I even tried one story that I know updated this morning and got the same error. I even dwnld/updated your recent test plugin. Same thing. Can someone help, please?

Either browser caches can sometimes become (mildly) corrupted, or FFF's cache reading code is less than perfect. I suspect the answer is both.

Your best bet in such a case is to trying clearing your browsing cache before trying again (with all steps, including visiting the pages in browser).

If that doesn't help, some users have reported success manually deleting the contents of their browser cache directory; then the browser should recreate it entirely. I'd back up and quit the browser first before trying again.

Anybody else having trouble downloading from TTH? It used to be really smooth, I have been pulling stuff from there with FFF for years (in fact, since before it was *called* FanFicFare) but for some reason, I haven't been able to get either new chapters for a story already being followed, nor entirely new stories.

Should I change anything in my setup? I tried removing the TTH username/password from my FFF ini file to check if was related to the login process (TTH allows anonymous downloads) but the problem persists.
