Yeah, I'm going to have to download that post without keep_style_attr:true, and then download the rest of the story excluding that post. I figured that the tab tables would make things difficult. I don't think tab tables are terribly common. I can only think of maybe two other stories that use them. Thank you for the timely reply.

I noticed that the Generate Cover plugin doesn't seem to embed the covers into the ePubs. Is this by default, or did I accidentally muck up a setting somewhere?

Generate Cover itself cannot embed covers in epubs.

However, FFF has a setting to embed Generate Cover's cover image if a cover is generated. Look in FFF settings on the Calibre Cover tab.

ADDED: That setting is off by default, BTW.

Hey, it looks like my previous post never got any sort of reply at all. If the answer is a flat "no," that's okay, I get it, I'd just loke to be told as such. If you just didn't see it, or haven't gotten around to replying, sorry for being a little passive-aggressive.

Yes, it is mostly original fiction, but so are many of the sites you currently support. And yes, itdoes also have it's own Epub download function, however that can be disabled by the uploadeder, and more importantly downloads the whole "series" as a single epub with no choice to do it differently. While in many cases this can be okay, or even preferred (because sometimes they're more like individual chapters). However oftentimes people use the series function for grouping (like "pools" on IB if you're familiar with that) so many stories I don't care about at all often get downloaded along the way

Also, the automation of FFF is heavenly. I have hundreds of stories from other places that I already need to add manually, and I'm dreading having to do it any more than necessary.

I am not interested in adding support for it. It's not fanfiction and it's not a particularly good fit structurally.

If someone else wants to write the code to add it (and support it), I'm willing to discuss it.

Basically, FFF uses a paradigm of author -> story -> chapter and associates metadata at the story level.

sofurry.com appears to only implement multi-chapter stories as 'folders' and associate metadata with what FFF would call 'chapters' in that case.

If one were to ignore 'folders' and only do one page per 'story' (requiring users to use Anthologies for 'folders') it would be simpler to implement, but less harder to use.

I would speculate that the site began as an image site and added prose afterward; possibly on the same software as deviantart.

No, SoFurry was originally YiffStar, a story only site. I think it would be more than acceptable to have every "story" be single chapter, and have people use the anthology thing for folders if they want. First, many if not most stories, even long ones are oneshots, and second people also use that feature to group things that are definitely series or even stories along a theme.Which was actually one of my main concrns becuse their built-in epub download function only does a whole "series"at a time (folders are ordered and only for stories, so more of a series function)

What you;re describing actually sounds a lot more like Inkbunny and pools.

Newbie just installed the Fanfic plugin and been trying to get the epub created from "ttps://www.literotica.com/s/three-square-meals-ch-01" and it keeps giving me an error "Connect timeout"

Tried to use the calibre debug to see what the issue and got the following :-

You have two seemingly unrelated problems here.

A connect timeout is a network issue of some kind. There are many possible causes: poor ISP or even wifi, overzealous firewalls, server congestion or even server throttling if they decide you've been downloading too much, too fast.

I was able to download that story successfully.

It's difficult to tell which it might be without more details. If you can view the story in your browser, but FFF doesn't work in Calibre with the same URL, it might be your firewall software preventing Calibre making outgoing connections.

OTOH, if you downloaded stories successfully and then started getting errors, server throttling is more likely.

FYI, you don't need to use CLI to run Calibre/FFF in debug mode. Under Calibre's Preferences dropdown there's a 'Run in Debug' option.

(If you prefer CLI, I suggest installing FanFicFare from pypi with pip instead.)

This is completely unrelated to connection issues. This is a py3 conversion bug that slipped through. I've fixed it in code, but unless you need to use Calibre CLI for some reason, I'm not going to uploaded a test plugin version until there's something else to fix too.

FYI2, MobileRead rules ask us not to post NSFW in public. OTOH, I almost always need a story URL to troubleshoot a problem. In future, I suggest posting the problem here, but sending me the story URL in a Private Message(PM). (Assuming you can--I vaguely recall that brand-new users can't PM?)

adapter_finestoriescom is subclassed from this. Does it need the personal.ini file related changes as well?
