Perhaps you are thinking of Jonathan Kellerman, her husband?

He wrote all the Dr. Delaware books.

I may attempt to read the French versions later. I used to own a copy of L'Homme Avec le Masque du Ferre, and even used it (sort of) to write a book report for English class once. But it's been quite a while since I've read anything lengthy in French. These days I usually content myself with puzzling out content on websites, etc. For now, I think I'll stick with HarryT's formatted English translations.

Oh they are married? I never read either of them, I just remember she was a popular author in whichever section she was shelved in.

A ha! I knew she wrote mystery!

I've barely touched the mystery genre. So I'm excited to read Agatha Christie and Janet Evanovich

What are you reading right now

during this wekend, i found on the internet a sick document:

Barack Obama: the naked emperer

That was written by a verry sick mind! It starts so negative - Obama does not deserve this.

btw - when I finsh this one (it's verry short - under 80 pages) I will start a "real book - "Dreams from my Father" or "The Audacy of Hope" - both by Barack Obama.

And in between I try "Feuchtgebiete" a book in german by Charlotte Roche.

take care

harry

I'm half way through Audacity of Hope -- excellent -- good summary of American politics / policy over past few decades.

Continuing with my theme of reading Old West books, at the moment Im nearly finished "The Log of a Cowboy".
This is a semi-factual account of a huge cattle drive across America, and includes some humorous anecdotes, along with accounts of the really hard work they endured. Its not about gunslingers or Hollywood cowboys, but the real 'cowboys'

A lot of it I hadn't even considered, such as the lengths they went to, to get the wagons over the rivers, or the fact they had to somehow calm down a stampeding herd using just a rope and their horse.
Also a lot of the country was still relatively uncharted at this point, so the leader was responsible not only for thousands of cattle in unknown country, but also for the lives of his men. I wonder how many CEOs really have that level of responsibility today? Not many Id guess.

Well I do like to rattle on, but theres no point just telling you what Im reading without some commentary, huh? :-)

I'm really enjoying it anyway.

The Log of a Cowboy (LRF format)

I'm scared to start that book. I've been reading short stuff lately (500-700 pages) and it's like 1300. I heard it is really good though.

700 pages is short? The Wordsworth Classic edition of The Three Musketeers is 630 pages. Or maybe you meant some specific reader page size?

That is weird, on regular size the Sony classic version is 1469 pages.

You can generally double the page count, then add something, when it comes to comparing pbook and ebook pagination.

At the font size I favor, I usually get a page count about 4.2 times longer.
