I'm getting ready to start reading a nice, juicy, (and hopefully, bloody) little collection of short stories called "Dr. Offig's Lessons From The Dark."

It sounds like a great read if - like me - you enjoy stories that reach lovingly out of the dark wells of sleep only to slowly encircle their blighted hands around one's thick and bloated throat...Ack!

Has anyone else read this collection?

Right now, I am reading a book by Ben Wilson
What Price liberty ?
How liberty was won and is being lost.

I am really enjoying this book. I guess it is more for history buff.

I downloaded it, but haven't begun reading it yet. My reading list is getting longer than a fifty year habitual criminal's rap sheet

I'm winding down Terry Darlington's Narrow Dog to Carcassone. Very entertaining. I'm looking forward to the follow-up Narrow Dog to Indian River, which is a few spots down on my TBR list. The dialogue doesn't follow the normal style (i.e., quotations when someone's talking), but you get used to it after a few pages.

Benjamin's Parasite by Jeff Strand is next on the list. Should be bloody and gross and wildly funny. Can't wait... *rubs hands together*

Just finished Darwinia by Robert Charles Wilson. Mediocre, 3/5.

Started The Broken God by David Zindell (sequel to Neverness).

Hmmm. I have one of his novels (can't remember which one), and have yet to read anything by him. What are these two books about, and was the first one better than your rating on the second one?

I was reading the Dresden Files. Finished Death Masks last week. I was afraid I was going through them too quickly. So I am taking a short break from them and now reading Moby Dick.

I feel like I am going through withdrawal though. I want to keep reading Harry.

I'm having the same problem with that series. I'm reading them way too fast! I only have three to go

Just finished 'Separation of Power' by Vince Flynn. A real page turned especially the closing chapters. I hadn't read any of his books till a few months ago. And now I've set out to eventually read each one, hopefully in order.

I was reading First Family by David Baldacci, but didn't like it; Baldacci is losing steam. Grisly, implausible, predictable, boring. I took it off my Kindle --- one click does that! As far as I know it doesn't archive or anything, just zap.

Now I'm reading the Book of Air and Shadows, Michael Gruber --- a lost Shakespeare play, letters and code found inside the binding of old books from a contemporary of Shakespeare who was trying to involve him in Popish plots, a mysterious female bookbinder with a dubious past, a heavy weightlifter lawyer who hates himself for philandering -- I liked how weightlifter didn't know how to fight a group, so he picked up one man and swung him around and hit another man with him. Not bad.

Started another one, in parallel with The Adamas Blueprint :
The Shadow Seer, Book 1 of Ellenessia's Curse, by Fran Jacobs
Like it much, for now, so I asked on Fictionwise for any book from its author...

I'm reading "Moon Called" by Patricia Briggs. I read some of her fantasy novels a few years back and enjoyed them, and someone (I think on here) told me to check this series out since I like the Dresden Files so much. So far, so good.
