Forgot to add, there is a sizing issue regarding the preferences dialogs under Mac. I've been pouring over the Firefox forums/mailing lists and have found lots of folks complaining about it but no good solutions. I'll keep digging.

I was able to reproduce the problem converting this site using the command line tools. The html2lrf utility works, but the epub and mobi utilities complain of invalid html and fail.

I'll try it tonight with the 0.6 beta release and see if that handles all output formats correctly.

0.6 seems to work fine. My plan is to switch out the backend to use ebook-convert and require 0.6 when it's a full release.

Also, I noticed Firefox 3.5 seems to have resolved my Mac threading issues.

Just a quick update, I've written a new progress view, similar to the downloads dialog, to work showing conversion process. It needs a lot of debugging still, but the basics are there. As soon as it's reliable I'll push it out as the current version.

Gosh, thanks. :-) Although as I'm leveraging the hard work of Kovid I don't feel too much credit is due.

Just tested on my Mac and all seems well. I'll package up a release either tonite or early tomorrow.

Are most folks moving on to Firefox 3.5?

Here's a new version:

v0.5.5

If you tried disabling threading before I would re-enable it and see if it's more stable.

This adds the jobs window to allow you to see progress of the conversion and view log files for each entry. After the conversion is complete, bring up the context menu in the job window for the item and select "Log". This should bring up the log in a new tab. These are stored in a db and when you remove them from the job view they are deleted.

It's crude, but works, I'll improve it over time.

It's an issue converting to mobi and epub for some sites with the 0.5 releases of calbre. Not much I can do about it. It's fixed in 0.6 betas.

This mainly improves logging under Unix and adds the beginnings of a help page. I'm making this the official release and branch from now on, I'll update the web page later as time permits. There is an issue with the update.rdf that I haven't yet figured out, so for now you'll need to install it manually.

Jo, I've been unable to reproduce the problem with the siegel web page. Can you try it with the new version and send me the entire contents of the log file?
