just wanted to say that I've just ordered the verilux too. And since I'm in europe I had to go through ebay again. Amazon did not want to ship to europe.

The verilux was offered for 20 dollar with 7 dollar shipping to europe (express shipping was 20+ dollar or so). I was not in a hurry, so the 7 dollar should be good enough.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Verilux-Natural-...QQcmdZViewItem

(It's actually quite silly, because I could also just use my ultramobile laptop (samsung Q30) if I want to read at night, but well.... )

Anyway, if anyone in europe wants the light too, ebay could be an alternative.

I think it was the cheapest option the site offered - $15, although (reason unknown) I do not trust ebay, so I never sought it on ebay.

Anyway, I am really happy with the lamp. The last month is the first time in many years when I come to my bed peacefully and read a book without any guilt.

Did you try Amazon.co.uk to see if they'd ship it?

I bought this one a long time ago in a DutyFree, it's great perfect and portable, but I saw the same brand at Borders and it just looked like a cheap fake. The one I have has the name "DesignGO" as a brand. I like it, but some may think it's a little dim.

I have one that goes by the name "Z Light". I really like the weight (very light) and portability. It does a good job of lighting the entire page. I don't know about the longevity of the batteries as I have only used it a few hours.

There's a good deal on this light (caaled the "Z-light") at Borders now. It's marked $12.99 and they have a 30% off one item coupon thru 8/9 http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/cou...rds300627c.htm. Comes out to under $10 with tax. It is very flat when folded and bright--has a dim setting too. And the CR2450 batteries (it takes 2 for 30 hrs or so) can be had on ebay for under $1 apiece.

I just purchased the GreatPoint 4 LED rechargable light. It is not heavy at all, and clips onto the standard PRS-500 case just fine. The light is fairly even on the Sony reader, and illuminates the entire page when clipped to the top. It has two brightness settings, and I find that the lower setting is easier on the eyes (less reflective glare).

My only complaint is that, on the charge cradle (which is a bit heavy - probably weighted so the unit won't fall over when charging), the charging light is always on - even if the unit isn't in the cradle. The unit was a tad pricy - I paid $35 for it at Barnes and Noble, but I had a gift card so it wasn't nearly as bad.

If anyone is interested, I can take a few pictures of the unti in use.
